ABLrate is the most underrated.
Moneything, easily the best by far.

Congratulations to Money Thing, SavingStream and Assetz Capital. A notable mention also for Collateral for nearly making it into the top three and this is quite amazing for a new platform.
The members of the P2P Independent Forum are some of the most knowledgeable on peer-to-peer lending and as such these awards should carry some weight. Very informative and opinion that I'm confident in following as I add to my p2p portfolio. Pleased to already be on board with rank 1 and 2 ...

The top three got my vote. However the 'preferred' companies appear to be those with the highest interest rates, young enough not to have many defaults and small enough to still be able to sensibly deal with comments on this forum. I hope unsophisticated investors look a little deeper than just throwing money at top ones here imagining they are the 'safest' Jack P

I have attempted though to diversify my portfolio both across platforms and risk categories making use of Ratesetter, Zopa and even a little FC to access different loan types. Perhaps others have a more adventurous attitude to financial risk!

For fun I was going to write some long acceptance speech Hollywood style thanking ALL the people who have helped us get to this point right down to Rolo our office dog, however thought better of it. So just a big thank you from all the The Things… clearly the chocolate bribes incentives worked on this occasion. Look forward to an exciting 2017!

Those that engage on this forum are far more likely to get my investment.

Surprised to see AC so high, I have tried a few times to consider investing and never seen anything worthwhile (and plenty with 'issues') Well their comms on this board is pretty good; their IT is pretty good; the system of setting buy orders and letting it work behind the scenes is good; and the swept account is pretty unique. On the downside, latter part of this year rates appear to have been dropping without any IMHO corresponding increase in quality, and aggregate value of loan availability for MLIA feels like its had a tourniquet applied. So while it got one of my 3 votes this year, I can see it struggling to do so next year.

I hope unsophisticated investors look a little deeper than just throwing money at top ones here imagining they are the 'safest' That's actually a strength of both MoneyThing and Ablrate. Quite possibly others that I don't know as well. A significant number of loans there have multiple layers of protection for lenders, not just say a building and a personal guarantee. At MoneyThing a good example is the AE* hire purchase loans, where there's the ongoing HP payment stream, the cars, the borrower swapping out defaulted loans and the borrower not having actual possession of the cars. At Ablrate there's say the currently live Basket of Secured Loans III involving A* C* I* 1* for dealer car stocking. Swap out of defaults, borrower, car security and the backing of A* C* F* if all that fails. Some similar loans at MoneyThing as well.

And do look at p2pindependentforum.com/thread/1820/property-loan-20-default
