To coincide with our third birthday this month, we are publishing the first of our quarterly usage stats covering the number of threads, posts and page views for each board on the forum. Thanks are due to GSV3MIaC for spotting how we could compile the page view data. Some of you will have seen the post Neil_P2PBlog made last week comparing AltFi's web traffic to ours www.similarweb.com/website/altfi.com?competitors=p2pindependentforum.com which is a fascinating insight into the usage of the two web sites, particularly interesting is the average visit duration of just over 13 minutes for us and under 2 minutes for AltFi, as well as pages per visit (roughly 1 a minute) Before we get to the quarterly stats, what have we been doing since November 2013 ? Well, after reading over 11 million forum pages perhaps the question should be "What should we have been doing ?" The comparison of Altfi and p2pif might be affected by how the two sites pages work. If I click a link here on the forum it keeps the old page open and produces a new second page to show me the linked page, whereas Altfi simply redirects the single page you are on when you click a link on it. So after half an hour here I might have numerous pages open but on Altfi it would still be one. Anyone know anything about this? |

Subjectively it seems that there is a negative correlation between the number of posts on a particular forum and the number of views per page on that forum. I can think of a number of reasons why this might be the case.

Wouldn't it be good to have an (yearly?) award to forum members based on likes divided by posts with a minimum post count (e.g. 100 posts)?

An ongoing thread on the Lendy board got me thinking about how much influence this forum has on investors. Is it possible to get an idea of how many people have viewed a thread, something like counting individual unique IP addresses would be a close approximation ? It is often stated that only a tiny fraction of investors view this forum, but is that really true ?

It would be nice to get rid of the More P2x Sites sub board and have everything listed in the P2x sites board But you'd have to change the order then (or else everyone would need to scroll down N times to find the popular platforms), and if you did that finding a particular platform would be challenging, because they'd not be in any logical (eg alphabetical) order. I prefer it like it is (but then I mostly don't use the 'other P2P platforms').
