"...I think I know what I gotta do..." I would and have done on others in the past....

Yep, 'persistently late' definitely correlates with 'went mammaries skyward some time later' (except first payments, which seems to just correlate with general admin incompetence, whether by FC or the borrowers is hard to tell). If they squeaks .. I sell them ("this does not constitute financial advice"). There will be more along before too long.

"...I think I know what I gotta do..." There should be no thought involved. Get rid of them while you still can. It's a strategy that would have prevented a chunk of my 2012 losses on FC.

There is a famous phrase from somewhere which says something about wise men learning to be cautious. Seems to me you can learn by other peoples past mistakes or by making your own on FC. However if you are not a cautious person and you chose the later cause of action it is inevitably harder on the pocket.

Well, well. Dumped four parts at 1.5% markup just now, and sold within ten minutes!! Did they actually read the payment records, I wonder?

Chances are that they will end up learning to be. Hopefully it will be a relatively inexpensive lesson.

Ey-up! Don't you mean, "Going...going...going...gone!?", or has my limited maths capability let me down.... Maybe I should have gone for more than +1.5%!! edit: Now I am waiting Ring Dong (3099) to catch up before he gets the boot!!

I think I was one of the jokers who snapped up a couple of the Grumpsters parts in this loan (1.5% mark-up to 12.7%), but after reading this page I soon sold them on at 12.1% to come out slightly up. I find that when you spot a good bargain on the secondary market it is a case of 'buy now, ask questions later' or it will be gone by the time you've checked the Q+A and repayment history.

A close escape - I had some repayments to place this morning and was considering some parts at the top of the list by buyer rate until I recognised the loan number, 5584. I had previously dumped my holding at 3% when first discussed on this thread, and would not have been happy to buy more from OG, or anyone. Be careful chrisf because people have been seriously criticised and called 'dumb' in the past by an old forum sage for not doing full due diligence before buying any £20 loan part on the secondary market. He may be lurking.

Sounds like you are still in the learning curve of becoming cautious! However a couple of gentle stings may rapidly improve your understanding!

PT Barnum, remember .. if you are a mug and buy what you shouldn't, another worse mug will be along to relieve you of it shortly. (Just don't buy rubbish at +3% mark-up, or you will take a small loss).
