And will the platform cope with the end of 10079 tomorrow? £515k A+ currently at marginal rate of 12.3%? Could be one or two last minute bids. Not only that, but unless I'm mistaken, another large loan request (10258) finishes at precisely the same time. It's going to be an interesting stress test...
10258 copped out by accepting early. But that hasn't stopped the last five minutes of 10079 being a victim of the 502s, from here at least. <edit> Oh, there's some variety! 503 for a change.

Loads of 503 etc from about 5 minutes out on the £500k auction as expected. No idea what to do, nothing to see, move along now.... You would think FC could drive the auction end times apart by 10 minutes to minimise cross contamination of server capacity.

Or did Frightened Cats "advise" them that the rate wouldn't drop any more and, "would you like to accept now, sir?"

Phew, got plenty at 11.1%, were both in then , what suspense. That's the first good rate since Xmas for me. Have moved some cash to AC this month to try that out but there has been a seasonal a drought over there too it seems.

Ah - back in - only about £25K seems to have gone since the site blotted bids out, so all my 11.2% are still in!! Now ... will an A+ company accept an overall 9.7%? ...or "The company has not accepted on this occasion as they no longer require finance. Thanks" "There was a error in the auction details and the loan will be relisted shortly. Thanks."

9.7% for £500k+, probably but it will be interesting.
Server capacity is an issue, given there is a glut of server capacity out there, maybe FC needs to get the cheque book out and rent some cloud?

Yes, it became sticky from 10 mins and crashed (for me) at 5 mins with 'no server available', and then 'you are now logged out, please come back soon'. But very little changed after 5 mins and I have half the amount wanted. The borrower should have done .1% better. Yes it should be taken. It just crept into the A+ envelope.

They keep saying it ain't server capacity, it's the antique system architecture which, when a new bid for £960 arrives, has to scrabble around updating transaction reports and balances for all the knocked out bidders, not to mention shipping out new bid data to everyone who wants it (at least the live update seems to have ceased). But they've been saying 'not server capacity' for many months (years, in fact) now. Oh, probably not helped by the fact that a page reload for a single auction can involve (last time I looked) a couple of MBytes (!) of uncached data being sent to your PC (mostly java script and .css files .. the actual HTML for an auction page is negligible, even if it contains a video).

They can customise the 501, 502 and 503 message if they wanted to.
"Our software is too old" or "stop pressing the F5 button" or "Don't Panic" in bright friendly blue neon or "don't press this button" followed by "I told you not to press F5".
Other ideas?

How long is it since they were told to upgrade to Windows XP?

When you get consistent messages trying to get to loan requests '503 there is no server available to handle your request' or words to that effect, then you are entitled to believe that there is insufficient server capacity. If the architecture is sub-optimal then presumably they need more server capacity until they fix the architecture. Our £960 friend does not seem to figure in the accepted bids (or not at the higher rates), and nor do there seem to be any unusual bidders active at the end. Just, presumably, a lot of bidders wanting a part of the only good numbers around at the time. Even with auto update unavailable the platform cannot cope and crashes 5 mins before the end.
Seriously unimpressed.

10258 copped out by accepting early. Or did they...? Bids weren't being accepted from at least ten minutes before the scheduled end, but the summary bids page still showed time remaining - and the bids are still showing as "ended", without being converted into parts yet.
