My wife has just done a bit of toe dipping into Funding Knight and first impressions are not good. We bought a loan part and as a test attempted to offer it for sale on the secondary market, fine until you try to set a closing date for the offer by clicking on the calendar, regardless of whatever date you choose you get the message “You must enter text with 10 or fewer characters”
So how on earth do you set a date?
I’ve had enough nonsense with FC’s IT, I’ll give FK the opportunity to respond but if it happens again I’m afraid that it will be a case of 2 strikes and I’m out.

Click on "end date" then click on one of the blued in dates (up to the next payment date) and that's all. The date is entered automatically. Can't think why that doesn't work for you.

Not had that problem, and I am quite active in this secondary market. It takes some getting used to as it is quite a different format to the otherplace, but it has its logic and I think the software is robust. Hope you can get to grips with it, yorkshireman.

Hi yorkshireman, thanks for posting and I'm sorry your first impressions weren't good with us. Let's see if we can put that right for you... The problem that you refer to above (and the fact that others are not experiencing the same issue) could be down to a browser idiosyncrasy but it's difficult to tell without knowing a little more. Would you be able to pop us an email to info@fundingknight.com please? If possible could you send it from the email address that registered (if it is your wife's) or failing that, include the user name/your wife's name that the account was registered with and mention that you posted on the forum. It'll save you having to type the whole problem out again in your email. We can then send you a link which will give us the details we will need to help you solve the problem. Or... for a possible quick fix.... you could try logging into your account with a different browser (Firefox & Chrome are least troublesome) and see if the problem still exists but if you would be so kind as to let us know how you get on/which browser worked/didn't it would help us work out where the issue is coming from.

How the hell do you sell a loan on FK? Before the old browser excuse is volunteered let me say that my wife has attempted to sell the same loan using IE11, Firefox and Chrome with no success.
No problem setting the selling price but impossible to set an end date for the offer. Click in the end date box and a calendar appears, click on a date and nothing happens unless you click on 08 July 2014 and that is accepted but rather pointless setting an end date on the following day.
We bought the one loan part as a toe dipping exercise in May and attempted to sell the part then as a test but experienced the problem described above at which point I started this thread.
It’s poor form when a problem has not been resolved 7 weeks later and should we ever succeed in selling the loan FK will be unceremoniously kicked in to touch.
Rant Over!!

IIRC you are only allowed to list a loan part for sale up until the day before the repayment is due. Once the repayment has been made you can re-list it for sale and set the end date until the day before the next repayment is due and so on...

The next repayment date is 09 July so theoretically I should be able to sell the part but I feel sure that your explanation has some bearing on the problem although I cannot see anything on FK to that effect. Thanks for the info.

Once the repayment has been made you can re-list it for sale and set the end date until the day before the next repayment is due and so on... Yes I think that's the theory, but I also struggle on occaisons even when setting end dates well before the next repayment date. I particularly find it difficult to set a date in the following calendar month, as the calendar control won't advance, and over typing the date gives an unrecognisable date error (both Firefox and IE9/10) I have to agree with yorkshireman that these issues should have been sorted ages ago, I first reported them to FK over 12 months ago. For me the secondary market has always been the weak part of FK both in terms of UI (although slightly improved recently with the filters that can take several minutes to actually do anything !) and the interest accruel behaviour.

I always thought the old design was the best and easy to use, i find the new one unintuitive and confusing and puts me off using the site. Speed remains an issue and it can take ages to load pages/load the percentage when selling parts Jack P

yorkshireman, Sorry to hear you are still experiencing problems. Although, having checked your account, the answer you've been given is indeed correct. The loan part sale is being restricted by the imminent payment date. We have recently updated the FAQs on the site and the answer is in there (along with some additional information you may find useful). The link to the page is www.fundingknight.com/faqs/lender-faq/ but to save you time, the following is the relevant section... "Why can’t I sell my loan parts on the Loan Exchange today when yesterday they were available?
There could be a number of reasons for this:
- The most common reason is that when payment is due from the
borrower, but has not yet been received or processed by FundingKnight, any offers for sale of loan parts on the Loan Exchange will automatically be suspended for up to five days. - These offers will automatically resume when payment is made and
processed. If the payment is not received during this time, the loan sale offer will resume after five days, but the impaired payment history will be shown and the relevant warnings displayed to potential purchasers. - It is not possible to sell a loan portion in the period 6 days before
the final due payment, or any earlier date on which the borrower has told us they are intending to repay the loan in full. - The ability to trade loan parts on the Loan Exchange may be suspended
or removed in the event that loan repayments have been missed, or if any other event has put the borrower ‘in default’. If this occurs, Lenders holding parts in the loan will be notified by email that trading will be stopped."
I hope that gives you the answer you were looking for. With regard to the problem you experienced back on the 19/20th May, I am sorry to hear that it's not been resolved. We were waiting to hear from you with regard to the link I sent you which we need to narrow down the many potential combinations of browsers etc. I (seemingly wrongly) assumed that since I hadn't heard further, that your problem had been resolved along with the other glitches that happened at the time of the website upgrade. Would you like me to resend the link? jackpease, mrclondon, I share your pain with the speed of the LE , the upgrade that is currently happening (see my thread - p2pindependentforum.com/thread/991/website-downtime-evening) should hopefully speed things up considerably. If it doesn't, please do drop me a line and I'll ensure that our IT team are aware of it. Ditto, the calendar issue... I will raise this again, apologies that it still isn't fixed for you.

I've got a load of small loan parts in the one loan, and it's a right pain selling them all, could you invent some sort of bulk sell procedure please?

Do you find you get much traction when selling loan parts? I sometimes check the last sale date, and they can be weeks apart.
