I don't usually invest in art but the link below shows that the Picasso coming today may be worth a punt for diversification from property. tiny.cc/waffiy

Te loan details state it is an " etching " not a print.

I have read what information there is on the loan details and it does state it is one of the seven series, however it does not indicate where this item is being held or what the loan money is going to be used for, and finally it does not indicate what security has been given in the event of the loan money not being repaid.

Its a pawn loan. The security is the item and no reason needs to be given for a pawn loan. I understand FC would take possession of this item.

Still interested in the loan's details if anyone cares to share. "Description: "La Minotauromachie" etching and engraving with scraper on laid Montval paper, unsigned, unnumbered, an impression of the seventh (final) state plate, executed in 1935, Renowned for painting as well as sculpture, Pablo Picasso is arguably the greatest printmaker of the twentieth century. He created more than two thousand printed images, working primarily in intaglio techniques but also, for extended periods, in lithography and linoleum cut. He created 50 etchings of "La Minotauromachie" across seven series, each series addressing imperfections from the previous series. This etching comes from the last series and is arguably one of the most valuable."

As Rookey says, with the value of the £ significantly down which could well drop further, this seems a fairly safe investment. However I know virtually nothing about art so I have no idea if the valuation is realistic or not. I have made a small (toe in the water so to speak) punt and I'm just hoping with the low LTV etc it's going to be better than the Scottish boatyard!!
Makes a change from property which could bomb if Brexit affects the property market country wide.

Property is certainly arguably overheated/artificially propped up. I've seen it go t**s up three times so far since living here in Blighty and it's anyone's guess when the next "correction" will be - but happen it will of course.
The Value on the Picasso, from my small bit of DD, and given its provenance, seems about right.

2nd Tranche up now and going slowly but surely, I've just boshed some more in because I still think this is reasonable and better than and certainly a good alternative to some (most?!) of the property available. Am also slowly selling out on SS due to recent shenanigans and loss of faith in them.

I grabbed a bit of this within minutes of it coming on and expected to see it vanish pretty quickly with people happy to get away from property, but no. What's up?

Another trache went up the other day and there is more coming so nobody will be in a rush to get it. A lot of people are not keen on art as the valuations can be pretty random and what is hot one week is not the not the next, although not so much in this case. I have invested in the previous tranche so have no intention of investing any further, its actually currently my biggest FS loan at the moment.

Yes, intriguing, only 36% loaned as I type, Lenders are clearly in no hurry. Still looks good to me though, as I have said earlier, I checked the Valuation and it's as near as poss to about right, and it is Picasso, so all in all as safe a punt as any other asset in the current climate?!!! Well, anything but property, especially if it's LTV 65 - 70%.
