Nice try but I am at my lower limit on number 4. May revisit when all are at lower limit.

Can't help with the others -- either I never had any, or I've already sold what I did have, possibly to you.

Not quite sure how the borrorower ever intends to repay any of these loans, each time a renewal comes up they just seem to offer more assets and issue a new loan.

I'm not in The Trains, but I keep wondering why doesn't the Borrower just bite the bullet and (reluctantly) just part with and sell some of their trinkets directly into the market they surely know very well and where they'll get the best prices? Obv we don't know their situation and they may be sweating on the sale/s of another asset (house/car/boat/?) but seems to me they've been racking up interest from which there now seems no escape? I was astute enough to barge pole these baubles, not so lucky with some other FS Loans, I'm a sucker for boats!

I love a free market. Opposing views create opportunities. These are, like has been said before, marmite loans. Posters are right in that we dont know the circumstances of the borrower. In this situation fs can't, correctly for security reasons, tell us about this. They must be comfortable with affordability and creditworthiness or they would not renew loans, as they recently did and soon will. I will stick with it for now. Plenty of other stuff for those that dont like the risk on this asset.

No argument there stub8535, I've met a few of these "Trainy's" (R U 1?!), they're absolutely nuts about their hobby/past-time (Rod Stewart!) and throw money at it so there's probably a good chance that if there's a default these things may well go for a good excess of their Valuation. That'd be a first?!!! You seem confident and to know your stuff on these stub8535 but I'm still glad not to be involved.

They must be comfortable with affordability and creditworthiness or they would not renew loans, as they recently did and soon will. Either that or they haven't a clue how the borrower is going to extricate themselves from this spiral and are willing to do an 'extend and pretend' in the hope that lightning strikes the borrower and they come into a large sum of money -- soon. I wonder if FS know how much more pawnable assets this borrower has? If the new assets don't happen to be train/railway related, I do hope FS indicate in the new loan description that the borrower has a lot of other loans from FS outstanding.

I did wonder if FS use specialist auctions for items such as these model trains? They should be able to recover any defaulted loans if they do.
I wish they would include the exit strategy in the loan description (if there is one).

With pawn items there usally is no exit strategy either is the borrorwer will repay or not, as the loan is on the actually asset rather then a construction project with a clear objective.
