Despite Octopus Choice's assertion on their site that they're an "open book", and a big strap along the bottom of their website which states " Like everyone, we use cookies – but only to improve and tailor our service. No nasty tracking stuff" ...if you view the page's source, the site clearly contains Google Analytics code! Is Google Analytics not classed as "tracking stuff", vanessaiman ?! EDIT: Additionally, the OC site also sets user tracking cookies for "Optimizely". According to Optimizely's documentation for the "optimizelyEndUserId" cookie being set by the OC domain: "Optimizely uses persistent visitor-level cookies and localStorage to uniquely identify visitors, track their actions, and deliver consistent experiences across page loads"

Privacy terms also say "we may use services that place adverts on other websites, based on how you interact with our own" - sounds a bit like tracking stuff?

Hi greatmarko , I hope you are well. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. You are absolutely right – at Octopus Choice we do use Google Analytics but only for purpose of measuring conversions, traffic and sales. What we meant by nasty tracking stuff was that our cookies are not malicious (we won't track you across the web) – we use cookies so that we can constantly improve our service. We’re committed to ensuring that the information you provide is kept secure at all times, and we have a series of physical, electronic and managerial procedures in place to prevent unauthorised access. Taking on your feedback, we’re going to be making this much clearer on the website and will be removing optimizely shortly. Please feel free to let me know if you have any further concerns. Best, Vanessa
