I'll admit the whole situation confuses me but I'm ultimately just happy to have some money freed up out of Purgatory and back in my account.
Grateful as ever to MT for their continued recovery efforts.

MoneyThingPlease add updates tab for this loan: "All historical updates have been copied into the 'updates' tab and all future updates on this loan will be posted on the updates tab." "To read the latest updates on this loan, please click on the ‘Updates’ tab above." And yet, no updates tab. Please amend as I can't see any recent loan details.

Email sent to MT last week and tonight requesting an update...ten weeks since the last one, so not unreasonable to expect one

Looks like a good response to me - not good as in " you will have your lonely and soon" but good as in " we are doing this and that ". After the update like this I would not wonder what is happening for good few months.

Not a good update at all in my book. MT have "indicated a willingness to settle"?!

Not a good update at all in my book. MT have "indicated a willingness to settle"?! I think MT should be allowed a little latitude here. A number of aspects need to be considered, not least that they have their own commissions and fees which they can use as a bargaining chip should they have no desire to see the inside of a court room. And that means returns to lenders may not be impacted. (TBC, I'm personally of the opinion: 'get them for everything that's owed, however long it takes', but other factors* come into play and not everyone will want to wait until 2021 (22?) for settlement.) * - one such factor being that if MT are in a court case and appear to be 'overly litigious', it could put off prospective borrowers, and that's MT's revenue stream, not lenders.

Agreed ..a touch of realism!

And by exactly the reverse logic, borrowers will continue to know that if they threaten legal action, platforms won't want to fight in court and will always settle.
Isn't it better to have one expensive court fight and win, as an example to other borrowers, rather than continual borrowers not paying their debts and threatening legal action, because the last guy got away with it?
