A forum is only as good as the people who frequent it. This poll is reflective of this. All of these people have had one or more people nominate them as the most valuable forum member of 2016. Each brings something different to this place but it is probably fair to say that this place would be the poorer without each and every one of these people. Very slightly uncomfortable with this in that this board remains strong because of the team effort by the mods - however I find your 'current loan availability tracker' extremely useful and deserves a vote!

Jack P Well, neither that post nor myself were nominated by anyone else and I didn't feel that I should self nominate, so I didn't. I do take the wider point about team efforts. This (and all of the polls really) was intended as a bit of fun, but if there is a view that this particular element is more harmful than fun, I could drop that next year (assuming I'm still around then to do the third annual...)

Zopa & Funding Circle forums due to all their former users migrating here If Zopa and Funding Circle are going to fund this wall, will they use their own platforms to launch the P2P loans? If this happens I think it will be unfair and possibly raises issues of conflict of interest. I think the right thing to do is to launch such loans on a different platform. To be clear, I mean Z and FC borrowing from the likes of SS and MT. I also have to add that Lending Crowd might be another candidate to add to Zopa and Funding Circle.

Bit late to this but would like to echo am’s feelings & say thanks to all. Separate thanks also to the moderators who give so much of their time to keeping this place alive for us. Tagging just a couple mrclondon SteveT but to be shared by all. As someone who can’t be full-time on p2p I’m not the most prolific of contributors but do try & chip in when I can. Much of it of AC’s pink page hideaway & not visible to many lenders (thanks to whoever for noticing). Thanks lastly to jonah & his whale for this annual light-hearted initiative. There are many excellent contributors with superb duedil & exchange of thoughts done who deserve this more than me, just one thought Jonah the post of the year (for which there can be zillions of good candidates) for months long gone by is very difficult to remember unless there’s a way we can save them as we spot em on the forum? Actually if you want to keep this thing going might be good to post a reminder a couple of months before the vote (& perhaps invite suggestions for the Best Innovation award.) Lots of innovations across the platforms, from memory more useful to the great hordes of unwashed than us pesky loan pickers but am probably forgetting some. Anyhow like, love or hate (as many of us probably do from time to time) this place the world of p2p lending would be much poorer without it. Whaddya do without it probably a question worth us asking ourselves from time to time. |
