Does anyone have a any recommendations for a suitable Cash ISA to use as a holding account for this years allowance pending transfer to a suitable IFISA(s) (hopefully) later this year ? I used TSB, since I already have a couple of current accounts there, making the flexible withdrawals/replacements very easy. My main bank's offerings (Santander) are not flexible, with less interest, which is why I was looking around............

I opened a Coventry flexible cash ISA, 1.05% interest. Just need all my SS SM loans to sell now.

We went for a Cov cash ISA the other year, and have a Cov savings account - they certainly seem to specialise in buying customers with market-leading rates... The downside is that their internet access is comical. It requires a credit-card sized piece of paper with a table of random numbers on it, like an early 90s computer game's "anti-copy" sheet...

After getting a bit sweary, there's a password reset in the post.

Hey guys If you're still deciding on which IFISA to go with - please check out the OFF3R IFISA comparison table. It gives you a quick snap shot of what each platform offers, hopefully, making deciding a lot easier. (Contains affiliate links) learn.off3r.com/innovative-finance-isa/ (Contains affiliate links
If you would like to see additional information outlined here please let us know. Cheers The OFF3R Team

To reset your password, you have to WRITE IT ON THE FORM THEY SEND AND POST IT BACK TO THEM. I kid you not.

Yes I remember that. Staggered was the phrase that came to mind. I also remember and still have the grid of numbers. Its precisely why the only thing i have with them is a legacy ISA (earning a decent enough rate): I went to open something else with them about 8 months ago and utterly gave up. Thankfully, as and when I need to do something with the ISA I will be able to simply get anotehr financial entity to perform the transfer.......I won't need to go near my account.

I applied for the cash ISA a few days ago - details arrived today. Just tried sorting the online banking access ........... and sure enough it transpires they have posted me a password form under separate cover which I then have to fill in and return. THEN they send me a Web ID and the card thingy......... Apparently I will be able to change that password online (considering I will have just sent it to someone I don't know) ...... The nice lady on the phone assured me there was no way to expedite the process. 'Archaic' doesn't really cover it..... At least I've got the account and sort code so I can get the funds in - I'll just have to phone up for a balance check to ensure the dosh has arrived

I signed up for that Coventry ISA online recently too. After applying for the account there was a separate "register for online services" web form to fill out here. So I think it's possible to arrange it all online without posting passwords to people: www.coventrybuildingsociety.co.uk/onlineservices/manage/OLS_ApplyDetails.aspxThough it does seem a tad excessive that they then sent me 6 separate letters through the post just to open a single account.

I have opened several accounts with them including one this week and have not had to send them anything, all input from my end is on line. So I think it must be the very first time that one opens their initial account that they follow the procedure described above. So my advice is to open that first account with £1 and don't add any more until you have full on-line access and can reset the password. Tough luck if you want to pay into an ISA this FY.

Unfortunately a 'computer says no' attempt on the very page your link goes to was what led to me phoning them re Online Banking Access .............

It would be interesting to re-run the poll for 17/18, assuming that all platforms manage to launch an ISA.
