Hello, today my first FS loan was due to expire (Goff). Didn't receive any credit, no update in the update tab. Very low visibility.
What's next ?

Only a minority of loans renew or repay on the due date, however about another 40% do renew or repay within a week of due date (usually renew). If there is no action for a week an update will usually appear to investors on loan progress or too give the borrowers often pathetic excuses as to why he has not paid up, although they can be very woolly at times. Of the balance 2/3rds renew or repay within approximately a month of due date and the rest well who knows ?

I currently have 8 loans outstanding with FS, dating back from October 2016 through to February 2017. 2 of those are defaulted, the others...well they just seem to go on week after week with little change.

What is the interest situation with overdue loans on FS? Does it continue to accrue, or does it stop once the loan passes term?

It still continues. When it comes unredeemed (defaulted) then interest stops.

What's next is you can whistle dixie till you're blue in the face whilst your investment dances a merry fandango in limbo land. You can also opt to vent your spleen in the FS 'overdue loans' thread about how late your particular loan is and how inadequate the latest investor update was Unfortunately, nearly all FS investors will end up with a portion of their investments not really active, not really defaulted, but in what I think saw aptly titled 'the twilight zone' in another thread. It's obviously somewhat disconcerting, as you never really know how well you're doing. I'd personally really like for FS to remove the restriction to trade <30 days left loans, which could really exercise the discounting mechanism in some cases, but would certainly be interesting!

Worth noting that this borrower has recently renewed several other loans without issue. I would expect this one to renew next week .

And does FS take action in terms of appointing receiver etc when need be ?
When loans are renewed, can you opt out ?

Probably I am unfortunate, as in my experience probably only 10% renew or repay within a week of the due date. A lot drag on for months without any real justification or even a simple explanation of what is going on. This is unacceptable for a lending platform. Actually since I have returned to FS in earnest and invested all my ex SS money I have found that figure to be much better than 40% well over 50%. But each to their own and this is what makes a market, different people with different views.

Have just been advised that my second loan to expire, due 15/3, actually settled today. Not bad.

When it comes unredeemed (defaulted) then interest stops. I don't believe this is correct. AFAIK, interest continues to accrue until the security is liquidated. Whether lenders receive all their accrued interest depends, of course, on the proceeds from the liquidation.
