Just be careful your money doesn't end up down the toilet. Dont joke - I am in the process of having my brand new (and expensive) bathroom ripped back out because of the shoddy job. Your doing well if you can get someone out to even give a quote. I've rang loads, they all say I'll be there at such time and 1 turned up! I'm considering ripping it out and doing it myself, how hard can it be?

based on the 3k (fitting cost) I have thrown down the toilet literally, quite hard I assume.

Bathrooms, pretty easy...it was doing gas connections in a kitchen that scared me off... prefer it if I can see stuff leaking

It may not leak, but if you're not careful it can turn up somewhere you're really not expecting! I always thought it was totally straightforward/idiot proof until I saw the mess the previous owner made of this place (and apparently he was an electrician)!

Arguably more dangerous than giving financial advice, but it ain't regulated, so 'what did you want to know'? 8>. Err I think you'll find that these days it's VERY regulated. There are still some ways to sneak round it but it can catch you out when you sell your house.

=Advice= is not regulated. Doing the work definitely is. (Thread moved to chat, if you want to keep following it)
