And how are Rebuilding Society involved please ablrate? It would be best to contact Huddle Or Rebuilding Society I guess. Seems Thanks c_d, but I hope for an authoritative reply from ablrate, and I imagine that others would be interested in that reply.

Fair enough Can't see their reply being any different, though. It is like ringing O2 to ask a question about your Tesco Mobile Account

Currently down for essential maintenance ... more likely undertaking an exorcism of the ghosts of platforms past

Cant see any reference to Huddle on FCA register, unsurprising as it isnt currently carrying out regulated activities Rebs doesnt have any AR listed and I dont think it has the necessary permission to act a principal. maybe it is because they only allow Company accounts to lend money so they do not need any FCA permission? Huddle Capital is a platform that facilitates business to business lending. In order to invest in SME loans through our platform, you must invest through a United Kingdom based limited company. Individual investors are not able to invest through our platform as yet.

Hi guys
Like we have said, we white labelled the tech...basically because its good tech... and there are potential benefits in having others using it later down the line.
The best people to speak to about the Rebs deal is Rebs.
In other news the meetings in Geneva ref the aircraft deal went very well.
Regards Ablrate

And even that bit is incorrect as there is no Rebuilding Society authorised by the FCA. The authorised entity is rebuildingsociety.com LTD and they have no permission to do anything other than 'operate an electronic platform for the purpose of lending' and hold/control CM

If Ablrate can make a contribution to overheads by licensing its IP to a non-competing platform, then that sounds a smart move. It must be the greatest overhead item and I have always worried about supporting the IT cost from a niche platform. Gives more confidence in the platform.

Spoken to David today to clarify. They use white label in the context of records that used white labels sent out to dj's to gauge level of demand. In this context ablrate passed huddle the keys to a mirror site developed by ablrate. Ablrate have let huddle know rhat they have not changed evetything that needs to be adjusted before showing it to the World. I checked for ablrate link with rebs. Categorical NO.
Hope this helps rather than fan the flames. False alarms and worry all round methinks

Hope this helps rather than fan the flames. False alarms and worry all round methinks Thank you very much for sharing this stub8535. It's reassuring to know that the relationship appears to be limited to IT systems. Assuming that ABL own the rights to their own IT system then it certainly makes sense to try and recoup the not insignificant costs of development and reduce on-going costs (changes can be painfully slow to appear on the site - just think tax statements and updates to the transactions/download history). It does beg the question why would ABL supply their IT system to what may become a direct competitor - surely future ACF/APF loans will appear on Huddle? It'll be interesting to see what appears on their site (any ltd company owners like to keep us up-to-date?). The ACF loan on MT is due to be refinanced in August, will this be with ABL or Huddle, perhaps. One to keep an eye on.

Yes, an eye needs to be kept on it, but at present Huddle does not do retail. They may not become a competitor: there are other possible outcomes for small platforms. My concern with Ablrate has always been with critical mass. It is good to see that the thinking is not isolationist, as with certain large platforms going for volume at any cost.

Huddle Capital launched earlier today. I made an investment and wrote up a bit of an intro: First look at Huddle Capital. It is open to private lenders now too. By my count I was the 4th to invest, so still plenty of places left for the 20% cashback bonus.
