Well blow me down with a feather, how much more rubbish could my prediction have been! Yep, the ones that will default are quite difficult to predict. A lot of the seeming safe ones can surprise us!

That's a relief.
No comment yet from monger of doom Gordon Bennett.
I expect he is at home busy drinking his Horlicks and updating his Shoot league ladders.
Answers on a digital postcard etc etc. Yawn.

As Yogi Berra said, it's tough to make predictions, especially about the future.

As Yogi Berra said, it's tough to make predictions, especially about the future. Not if it's about Power Boats....

this has been very good for those of us with up to £300K invested - I am pleased for them but they have more bottle than I do - well done FS and now for the powerboats....

FOR ALL THOSE WITH EGG ON THEIR FACES I nearly missed your caption. That changed my interpreted meaning markedly.

Excellent result for all investors in this loan coupled with the fun and drama of the forum, what's not to like? Anyway, further evidence that the BHs are earning returns in excess of the bonuses listed on the loan details page are evident. Remember, the previous loan paid returns of 18.9% - well in excess of the nominal rate of 13%.... I'm looking at the loan details across all loans and the original loan ( 1781021782) sticks out as having paid the most interest in excess of the basic interest rate. It was active for 224 days, which equates to £131.6k interest at 13%. It actually paid £191.4k interest at an actual return of 18.9%. The excess return of 5.9% exceeds the maximum bonus of 4.0% for investments of £100k+. A question for investors in this loan, did it pay default interest for the period overdue (41 days)? If there was no default interest then I guess FS are paying higher returns to institutional investors, BHs, underwriters, syndicates, etc? I've no problem with this but if this is the case it may further depress actual returns compared to the published statistics for standard retail investors. It's certainly not something you consider when you first look at the statistics page and decide to invest, or not. The loan repaid yesterday paid 18.3% with a nominal rate of 13% yet the first additional loan only saw modest increase in the overall rate, which is consistent with the bonuses available to the BHs, and the second additional loan paid under the advertised rate, huh? Renewal, 1884545779, paid 18.3%, nominal 13% + bonuses Additional, 8824507669, paid 14.8%, nominal 14% + bonuses Additional 2, 4955106126, paid 14.8%, nominal 15% The additional loans at 2nd and 3rd charge appear to have paid some of the BHs less than the 1st charge! No wonder there were no bids higher than £25k in the additional loan.

Are there any information sources re how the BH system works?
Seems odd if the original borrower could have made anything on this risky, stressful (for them and us) investment after paying up to 18% interest to a lender of last resort.
Anyway a lot of people relieved FS achieved some success on this nail biter.
