Just to reinterate (iirc someone already raised it) but the switch to isa button ain't there on firefox on my tablet, although 'ask for desktop site' and wander over to the sm page fixes it. The logout button is similarly goofy.
Works fine on the desktop pc, still with firefox.

A really useful quick improvement would be to allow the account holder to select which account opens when they log in - would make it much more friendly for those who want only an IFISA account.

There was a complaint on another thread that a new lender (New features requests, Investorman, Aug16) who just wanted an IFISA account had to have a normal account as well and was directed to the normal account on login. If the (obvious) answer is to log in with the IFISA email address then that removes the inconvenience, other than needing two email addresses for one wanted account.

i just thought of this now. with ISA from previous years transferred in to abl, if i sell them on secondary market, i am essentially lowering my total isa savings, isnt it?

Cash from sale will still be on your Ablrate ISA account untill you either reinvest it or transfer it to another ISA.

Yes - IF you withdraw the cash (permanently). To maintain the ISA status you either keep it in the account as cash and re-invest as the opportunity arises or make use of the flexible feature and re-deposit the sum withdrawn before the end of the tax year to maintain the ISA status of the money. If you forget or miss the end of the tax year the ISA status of whatever you have withdrawn is lost.

As treeman says, AIUI this is a flexible ISA, so you can take money out and do with it what you will, as long as you put it back before the end of the tax year. With a non-flexible ISA you need to only take it out via a transfer to another ISA (which you have to initiate from the receiving end).

I am also seeing a delay. You would think those banks could save themselves some money by sending an electronic payment. They are hardly earning much by holding the cash for a few days at the moment.

BACS doesnt support transfers to IFISA electronically. HMRC requires there to be agreement between sending parties to transfer electronically and that is currently largerly only avaliable for cash ISA or JISA transfers to same or S&S.
