Didn't someone once come on here (or was it the previous place) offering to rent out their bid-bot? Got sent packing with a flea in his ear I think.

I'd sell mine, but a) you couldn't afford it, and b) it's seriously tuned to my requirements, and I have no desire to support it for anyone else's, and c) having paid my ludicrous price (based on my ludicrous £/hr rate) the buyer would probably abuse it by throwing in more money than I consider fair and reasonable (to be a commercially viable venture it probably ought to play with a six or seven figure sum).
Sifting the secondary market automagically has been done for a couple of years now (and complained about over on the official forum for most of that time). I believe mention has even been made here how some of the buy-bots are dumb enough to be persuaded to buy rubbish, albeit only if offered at a discount (as opposed to FC's autobid, which will only buy rubbish at par).

I suspect that both automated and manual bidders buy rubbish at undeserved premiums every day.

I could run you a class .. at a price ..*grin* .. it's probably best to start with a windoze PC, and something like VBA / excel for easy programming (yeah yeah, you can do it in Linux / C# / Java / whatever too .. probably even Android). Scraping the 'loan parts for sale' pages and grabbing the 'choice' parts which appear is probably a bit easier than a bit-bot to chase the auctions down .. at least once you buy a loan part it's yours and all you have to do is sell it again (equally automatable). Bidding on auctions requires regular tending, maybe for days, and then the website goes and crashes 3 minutes from the end..
Defining 'choice' is probably the hardest part. Most of the bots out there just seem to (based on cursory inspection of behaviour) 'buy anything offered at a rate which can be resold at a profit at a rate above the average for the risk band'. Usually with some limit on loan part size, and overall exposure, maybe with reference to the other offer prices for that loan. Not very smart, but very very fast. Of course it could be hair-trigger liveware doing the buying, but I sort of doubt it.

Wasn't that someone who had an amazing scheme where you provided your login details to him, and he would run your account for you? Something to do with a university course. All went very quiet after the various threads, and the user, were banned into oblivion. Tried it on the official FC forum, and the old independent one?
