Just to flag that Ford Money (yes, as in the car) have launched a probably very time-limited regular saver @ 4% for up to £250pm, with no requirement to open a new current account. Ok, it's not a huge amount, but it's higher than a Ratesetter 5 year loan (3.2% at time of writing) and has FSCS protection! There's also a Flexible ISA flavour also at 4%.
Currently researching whether one can hold both a single and joint reg saver, and also both a standard and cash ISA variant. Depending on the answers, that could add up quite nicely for a couple.
Edit: I've signed up for just the standard reg savers at the moment, all very smooth and all online for me.

Came online about 10am although I'm still waiting on the ISA, the ISA allowance can be split with their other cash ISAs (a more normal c1%). I'm having to repair my Halifax HTB for which a 2017 payment slipped in to this month. 😡

Thanks for this r00lish67I too have signed up for the standard regular saver - the best risk-free rate you'll get apart from current accounts/linked regular savers. Please let us know what you uncover with regards to holding the single and joint regular savers. If you could, then a couple could squirrel away £1250 per month at 4% otherwise it's just £1000 I guess!

Regular Saver ISA accepts transfers in but then fails to tell you anywhere in the bumpf about how this is achieved and nothing in the opening process either. Having hunted around the site its buried in the Help articles under About Our Products apparently you have to phone them up ... if its too complicated will just cancel the application.
Dont see the benefit of the standard regular saver as I can get the effective rate of 2% on multiple current accounts so its worth about £6

Yes, transfers in by phone so Halifax HTB prior years staying put & self-transferred May payment to repair. Don't do calls as rates are extortionate from here & banks have refused wifi calls for security! Edit - btw reg saver & isa saver both now set up, sole name only. Edit 2 - best thing about being a low earner is all accounts are tax free; the worse thing is being a low earner

Had confirmation back: "Dear Mr Roolish67, Thank you for your recent email about our regular saver. I can confirm that you can open a regular saver and a regular saver cash ISA at 4% however if you hold one in a sole name you are unable to be a named account holder on another regular saver" So, good news, on the whole! ilmoro For once I can't agree with you, it's just that each successive month your new contributions will only last for a decreasing number of months @ 4%. You're still getting 4% all the way, it's just not on as much capital as nearly all of us would like! Can fully understand why many don't feel it's worth the bother.

Don't do calls as rates are extortionate from here & banks have refused wifi calls for security! If you have a good internet connection, have you looked at Localphone.com? Calls from your PC to UK landlines are 0.5p per minute. Although they go over the internet from your end, the recipient gets a normal phone call. I find call quality less reliable than a landline but better than a mobile. I have had no trouble telephoning banks via Localphone.com

Meanwhile, back to Ford's offering. Have duly opened the Standard Regular Saver as well as the ISA variant. 4% and max £250 ain't much of course but it's a nice little "set & forget" home to trickle yer pin money into for a year. And two less worry lines on my deeply furrowed countenance.

That didnt last long, Reg Saver already Sold Out, ISA still available I am amazed by that. On another website that I sometimes look at, people have worked out that the real annual interest rate is 1.84%. The annual 4% is only paid on your first month's subscription. Even so, I considered the Ford ISA until I realised I could put only 3k into it.

So you get 250 @ 4% for 1 year, the next 250@4% for 11 months etc. The money not yet invested can't earn you interest from this product as it isn't there yet, but could earn you interest in the product it is invested in. I was expecting this to sell out, but hoped 2-3 days. Missed it. Oh well.

On a side note, anyone else not seeing their £250's credited as of yet? I sent mine in yesterday morning and still not there now, but I did notice a discrepancy between what was asked for on the web and in their email i.e. one said "make sure to you use you acc number as your reference" and the other said " make sure you use your acc number and your surname". I went for the surname option....?

Last time I tried for First Direct I think there was lack of reliable caller ID and when I 'fessed up I was on wifi she demanded I call when back in UK. 5% saver too 😭.

Localphone lets you set the caller ID to any telephone number where you can receive calls. Localphone rings the number to verify it when you set it up. I have been using Localphone for several years, including calling multiple banks, but not First Direct. I don't know Vyke. It seems to offer a similar service to localphone. The Vyke FAQ says "when you call or SMS from your SIM profile your number will display as the caller ID", so it should have satisfied the bank.
