What on earth could take this long? Maybe some of the toy trains (railway memorabilia) are missing from storage and they're negotiating with the dealer on the missing toy trains?

Just what we have all come to expect from FS, total incompetence
Thought the new director/owner (whatever) may have made some improvement, but no, just as bad as the other two & that is saying something

I too see no excuse for this delay - surely FS aren't playing for time in order to keep the default out of the 2018 figures? I have a horrible feeling this one is going the same way as Crossrail...

This seems to be made up of lots of different assets I’m left with £80 ish . On looking back I made more than this in interest so no overall loss . I see some previous railway stuff had 228.58% LTV so I suspect made up from numerous other loans so I would imagine nobody has any great sums at risk if you take off interest already paid. Please feel free to give us your experience if you have an overall loss as it always helps to avoid similar situations in the future.

Crossrail just given billions more do you think FS will be looking to do the same ? Nice hotel in Whitehaven with development/ nefarious opportunities.

I'm struggling a bit with the juxtaposition of one of the great civil engineering undertakings of modern times with a collection of 'toys' that should probably have been sold in a charity shop. I must confess I was never in this loan so may be being a shade insensitive to its importance.

Good for you not indulging yourself with peculiar investments The toys are worth more than car boot price, but selling collections like this is never easy. I've ended up with the whole bunch of them because I was new to it and didn't suspect that all of them are to the same borrower, I thought train memorabilia could be a popular pawn asset like Rolex watches, posh vehicles and so on.

I thought so too, I never bought any but am surprised they haven't shifted. Model trainy people go nuts with their spending on these things so I remain surprised. Perhaps too many hitting the market in a short space of time? Still perplexing when there's a worldwide market, I'd have thought the massive yank market alone would have snapped 'em up.

I'd imagine so, but I doubt FS has a capacity to reach that far across the ocean in order to sell growing numbers of defaulted assets (subject to availability). It looks like they are drowning in them, not as deep as Ly, but quite close.

Curiously I have an uncle who is an avid collector of a wide range of things, including a train set that fully occupies one bedroom (entrance to which involves crawling under boarding which supports the track). He never married surprisingly. So I am due to inherit these wonders at some point, or more accurately a quarter of it. My brother and myself are the nominated executors of the estate, he has valued these as 'got to be worth a bit'. I value them as 'Lord we will be months ploughing through that lot'. All things are relative I guess.
