New loan going live at 4pm. Any of you classic car buffs know if the valuation is reasonable given the high LTV?

Not a specialist, but if you believe autotrader, it seems alright as this model seems to be priced between 50 & 70k. They say however that the engine was rebuilt, so I am not sure that would be comparing apple to apple...

Well FS knew it would go quickly as it was a small loan, which is why they only offered 10% for 71% LTV (cheeky!) as they knew they could pocket the change Nevertheless, the valuation should be fine. I gave it miss as I am in the older E-type loan at 12% for 41% LTV and will happily buy that car at the distressed price if it goes into default

Before P2P, savers put a guinea in a piggy bank, now they smash the banks to become guinea pigs.

E-Type renewal tomorrow.
"The convertible roof is in good working order and water tight when raised."
Obviously not quite so water tight if roof not raised.

FS have just posted a renewal with increase.
So anyone who signed up for the previous loan at 41.67 LTV and leaves their renew button ticked (not everyone logs in every day to review their renew buttons!) will now have involuntarily signed up for a 60% LTV loan by tomorrow morning.
Bit naughty FS!

Bit naughty FS! They did the same with the endurance boat IIRC. I agree it is naughty of them.

Bit naughty FS! I agree that more time should be given, but last time they did something like this they didn't allow renewals and I remember lots of complaints that people had bought loans at a premium on the secondary market and they weren't allowed to renew so they'd ended up not making any money. So, as usual, there's often no way to keep everyone happy. I think the optimum would have been a loan as a secondary charge, but even that can be argued to be bad for the first charge holders as it often seems that a secondary charge reduces the speed at which FS will dispose of an asset if there's any doubt about covering all facilities.

I thing FS's approach is reasonable in this case as the loan should sell easily on the secondary market, so no one whose loan is rolled over will be stuck with it.

I invested a small sum and I don't care if I don't get any return as it evokes so many memories - and those are such happy memories that it's worth the loss. Sorry but I don't have my "investor head" on.
If it defaults I would like to buy it even if it just sits in my garage.

I haven't dipped in this one yet and I fail to understand the reason for this renewal and increase. 2014240573 is live for 42 days and it has been renewed a number of times on FS. Original loan amount is 25k back in 22.5.2015. Total interest received for investors is 9.2k. This renewal and increase is 36k???

It's stated in the description that the borrower wants more money and FS felt comfortable that the LTV was such that the asset could support a larger loan.
