8.4%. I bet they don't last the 5 year term. My impression is that today's activity is the result of matching investors to loans vacated by those who headed for the door when the free sell-out was offered. This explains why the "new" loans I've taken on today in the 5 year market have been for only 36-45 months. If this is correct, the borrower's terms are presumably unaffected and there is no new incentive for them to re-finance at a lower rate. Wiser heads will no doubt be able to correct me if I've misunderstood things - which is quite likely!

In five years, I prophesy that the following WILL still exist. In alphabetical order: Assetz Capital Ratesetter Zopa I have no confident view of any others. If there is still a "here", and indeed still an "I", then I'll come back here five years from today to either crow or eat my liver. Unless Google Calendar has also packed up by then, of course... So, just one out of three. How pitiful. ashtondav added Funding Circle, so in a sense he only got one out of four, but I take no satisfaction from that. Well, maybe a little My only consolation is that this thread is probably as defunct as the departed platforms, so very few will read my grovel of shame. Right, off to buy some fava beans and a nice Chianti...

Depends what you define as 'exist'. Zombies abound, and some now exist as weird bank like things.

It was sheer luck/co-incidence though that they rolled out their Smart Saver around the same time as I was looking for a decent Easy Access rate. It's now even paying more than I get on a 3-yr fix I took out about 18 months ago!

I use it mainly for 31-day notice "pots", can't go wrong with 1.95% locked for 1 month.
