Have you seen their accounts on Companies House? £38M loss over their trading history, of which £18M lost in the year to 31/12/2015. Accounts to end 2016 awaited with some interest. Yea, growing companies never lose money.... (Amazon, Twitter, Uber....) For every success you quote there are probably a lot more than bombed. I guess it's a case of can you become profitable before you go bust? Am I the only one that found the thread title a little misleading. Is it 160m loans, or £160m worth of loans?

I had a quicknlook at the loan book earlier. Approx 3% of whole loans default whereas its closer to 6% for partial loans. Tho there are many reasons why that could be the case... The analysis I referred to showed that the main reason was the 'whole loan rejects', which pushed a number of poor prospects back onto the partial board. It's on this forum somewhere. Also please remember that whole loans have not the long history of partial loans, and so there will be some lag on the defaults (but not much I think).

You can easily be profitable and go bust, if you run out of working capital.

Wouldn't it be nice if Aegon purchased the debt in the shameful FC London Hotel loans and repaid investors the capital and then had fun suing the borrower?

From what I have read elsewhere you are not going to have any choice in the loans you invest in in the future. So retail investors will be dumped with the bad less good loans whether they want them or not. Will the institutional investors still be able to reject? Was looking to invest once they got their IFISA up and running, probably won't now.
