These were the rates on my current account as of today. As I'm sure you well know, there is no publicly available 7% interest offer currently ongoing for a BoS current account and hasn't been for many years. So what are you referring to? Some employee/legacy perk or something? It was taken from my current bank statement. Cut and pasted. I must admit I was surprised but I have been getting a lot of interest over the last few months I see website quotes 1% and 2% ish but definitely says on my statement as printed I won’t be bringing it to their attention any time soon.

Their home page shows the BoS interest rate drops 0.5% tomorrow to 1% on £1 - 3999 & 2% on £4000 - 5000 unless there's a legacy product?

It is 0.3% drop if you keep 5k there, that is 1.2% interest rate. I had the last (used to have three of them) BoS running and recently used it to switch to RBS (they give £150 for switch) and my freed up 5k will move to Al Ryan @1.6% for now.

On a similar note, Club Lloyds rates dropping tomorrow too. You'd think the tight gets could at least match Marcus given that they used to offer 3% not so long ago, but clearly not!

I'm keeping my Club Lloyds open for any future switching opportunities and for the next round of Club Lloyds reg saver if it stays at 2.5%, but 5k is going to Al Ryan tomorrow. They all following the same pattern. When one drops the rate the others tend to follow, but it was a good time when 3%-5% current account offers emerged. Now it's just TSB @3% and first year on Nationwide @5%.

Anyone else had what appears to be a phishing email random full password "reminder" from "postmaster" @ Al Rayan?

Yes, I got it too. Went to my junk mail. That’s really quite worrying as a new Al Rayan customer. How has my email been leaked so quickly. Have you reported it? I have a lot of money in this bank (over the protected limit) so this potential security breach is a real concern.
edit to say I actually think it might be genuine and a separate messaging system they’re giving us a password for. Looked highly suspicious tho.

Looked highly suspicious tho. I didn't get anything like this, but I doubt it has anything to do with Al Rayan. More likely your e-mails were obtained by scammers from elsewhere and the name of the bank was selected in hope that e-mail will reach few potential targets.

Worth revisiting this Topic, seeing as many of us I am getting out of Dodge. I still favour Fundsmith, various Vanguards and their ilk, but wonder if there's summit else out there? P2P could have been SO good.

P2P could have been SO good. Indeed it could. I have a bit of faith in some of the remaining players to make me a return better than the banks. However its been a rapidly changing feast and I have culled over half of my original p2p accounts. I doubt that it has run its course yet and new horrors may emerge but also so could reasonable situations. Locating them will not be easy.

Probably best not to mention fund names as i don't want to pick the next Woodford or give advice but as a natter on a forum if looking at income with a risk to capital (blimey-sounds like p2p!) what about renewables or infrastructure? You even have things like Sequoia (SEQI) and GCP which lend money to pay for projects and pay you interest (so a bit like p2p but with big boy pants)

P2P could have been SO good. Hand on heart, the best 'investment' out there without catches at the moment looks like the Coventry regular saver paying an FSCS protected rate that's 1.2% above inflation (2.5%). If you are baller enough to have more than £500 a month to throw around... well, either a 1.65% 1 year fix with Atom bank, or put it all in VWRL (but don't check the balance for 25-30 years)
