Are you sure you're on the official NS&I website and not a scam one? I recall you can deposit your money via Debit Card when you open the account online and the whole process only takes 5 to 10 minutes. I already had Premium Bonds so maybe that helps to streamline the process but your experience is FAR from normal, something is very wrong. If you have to do anything by post it can take a long time at the minute. I had to get my old PBs added to my online account (and had to send the info by post) it took over a month. I had £10 in PB that I was given as a birthday present about 50 years ago. I already had the 3 year bond with an online account, so wanted to add the £10 to my online account (then add the missing £49,990). Couldn't do it on line and was told over the phone to send the details by post. Sent them in and received a reply (after about 5 weeks) saying they couldn't action my request, as they needed a notorised signature.
In the end sold the £10 and added £50k to the online account.

Spreadbetting. For those interested, I have started a Thread on this under the "Chat" category. If it proves more efficient/effective I will move the discussion to here.

Does anyone know how long it takes for a £500 move from NS&I Income Bonds to ones feeder account. I know how long it takes to send to the NS&I and I could just do a test for the return but if anyone know it would save me moving largish sums back and forth and trigger potential fraud flags.

I tend to request withdrawals to my bank account during the evening and it's in my account by the next evening. But if you mean hours/minutes - sorry, no idea.

Wow a comedian then , Its the minimum in either direction for that particular product - i'm not familiar with minimums on other NS&I products. I actually would more likely be moving larger sums if an opportunity arises but I kept it to this just to ask the question. If I can use it as quickly to release cash then even better.

Thread reminded me to increase Premium Bond holding ready for Oct draw. Won last month for the first time in ages ..... how on earth did the postie know the cheque was only for £25? Shows how long ago my previous prize was, I hadn't changed settings to send prize directly to my bank account. Re the NSI Income Bond withdrawals - I've had the anti-fraud automated phone validation calls for quite low amounts. Startled me the first time, but that was back before AC etc introduced 2FA.

www.fwi.co.uk/livestock/taking-stock/world-record-350000gns-tup-sold-at-lanark Well, growing your own food increased in popularity during lockdown. Maybe it can be a lucrative alternative investment too (if you have a big enough garden!) How can one sheep be worth over £367,000? There must be a new class in the Grand National that has passed me by - or maybe Damen Hirst has put in a special order for his latest "artwork" .....

It's an extremely good Ram which can sire huge numbers of sheep, including with artificial insemination. Edit: And amongst them some more extremely good, valuable rams.

Over the years a few forum members have mentioned WhiskyInvestDirect.
Can anyone share recent experience of this company, and/or give any pointers for newcomers?
The website seems very professional...

The website seems very professional... The ObviousInvestor posted an article on whisky investments yesterday. See here: obviousinvestor.com/invest-in-whisky-my-first-investment-in-whisky/
