I fear that some of the posts may have dissuaded Ed from posting on the Board. No pipeline update, no existing loans update ..... Email and support updates on the website now appear to be the path forward, but perhaps this is the right approach no matter how much we appreciated the engagement on here.
Interesting that the apparently imminent loans in the last pipeline update have yet to come to fruition, but new car loans that have not previously been mentioned are now launched (as welcome as they are).

Aside from any contribution here, the pipeline update should still have been sent to all lenders by email. That hasn't happened in the last week. At least the loan updates and new car loans reassure us of signs of life at MT HQ. I hope Ed is ok

GeorgeT said: 100% agree . But seriously, I think all platform reps should participate in discussions so long as they are constructive. As has been said they are not and so I can understand why they would not want to participate in all of them, but I think selective participation is the way to go - no rising to some of the rubbish because other members on here are always around to do that for you. What I am most interested in is how MoneyThing knows people who say they are out on here are in when the forum is, as they say, anonymous. The only way I could think would be if profiles had email addresses on them and they could cross-reference to their own accounts, but they don't... Any ideas?

Would guess there are any number of ways, such as someone following up a post on the board with an email to MT, or the other way around. Nothing sinister. Does my 100 or so posts in 2 years get me a gold star?

My MT user name is the same as on here too ..... though casual sticky-beaks won't get far with that ..... there's nothing I would post here (across the full range of to ) that I wouldn't put in an email / say to Ed face to face. I suspect many are the same

I understand that TheThings are quite an approachable bunch.

Quite a lot of investors use the same username for forum and platforms lendinglawyer This has now become apparent, even if I do not and boringly just use my name on sites which I trust with my money. I retract my question and it wasn't meant to imply some sort of conspiracy, I was just curious.

You would think that people using the same forum name as their platform login is a bit of a bad idea.
Even so, how many people would do it? I think it would be the absolute minority rather than the rule. Thus, jumping to such conclusions on such a small sample of data seems to be rather wild at best. Every platform has its outspoken critics, and who knows in this business, perhaps there could be dark arts as rivals employing professional trash talkers. If that was the case, their very goal would be to get people like Ed not to post anymore.
I can't help thinking that there are other vested interests behind this. I am sure when Funding Circle pulled the plug on engaging with customers they probably put a warm fuzzy spin on it like 'we don't know if our contributions are useful', conveniently side-stepping the fact that not engaging meant they wouldn't have to answer difficult questions.

Back onto topic - it frankly comes as little surprise that many Platforms choose to no longer engage with members on the forum. I stopped regular posting myself a while back after receiving more than a couple of abusive PM’s from members - I refused to release some in-depth DD regarding three Platforms.
The problem is that when the forum was originally launched, many of the posts were based upon facts rather than imagination. Also, when a Platform states an update will be available on the the 8th of the month, why are some forum members jumping the gun on say the 5th asking if there’s any news. There’s also the frivolous posts expecting the Platform to answer and when they do, it triggers even more meaningless posts. Answering these questions is utilising management time which could be more useful in running the business.
Of course, Platforms need to be taken to task when they fail to ‘honour’ their commitments but these should be based upon fact rather than fiction. Also it’s apparent that the dynamics of a topic can become totally unbalanced by just one or two mischievous posters.
Just my tuppence worth.

Why would you need anonymity with the platform? Perhaps to avoid retribution for derogatory remarks? But then why are you using the platform with that attitude?
