Good ole FS eh? They have a way with words. I trust them implicitly, I'm remortgaging my house and borrowing as much as I can from all my friends and bunging the LOT into FS' Loans. This is NOT investment advice.  FS have many failings, but this isn't one of them. They didn't hide or obscure anything and the loan description was very clear this was a lower ranking loan. To have described it as a 2nd (or 3rd) charge would have been false. However, this is a perfect example of how easy it is for the common person on the street to unwittingly accept more risk than intended as most of us just aren't used to the specific terminology used. I don't feel anyone is to blame here. As I said at the start, it is just unfortunately a harsh education for portlandbill. If I was running a Platform there are FAR crystal clearer ways to present Loan Details, especially "Loan Ranking", but these are rarely used. I wonder why?

Just DO IT fellow Investors.
We have done nothing wrong here and the FCA must be held to account.
The FCA cannot be allowed to airily call The COLL Debacle "unfortunate" and simply walk away unscathed from causing the destruction of the invested savings of people who only did what the FCA told them to do, and trusted the Register.

This kind of post makes me despair, where a seemingly educated person says...it'll be alright...all we have to do is.... . And I despair when remainers make posts suggesting that they are some how more inteligent and better understand the facts that leavers. There are plently of very intelligent and sucessful business men out there who are quite happy with the prospect of Brexit.
The fact that somebody dissagrees with you doesn't make them wrong, it just makes them different. Spot ON agent69. For every "Captain of Industry" that says Leaving will be a disaster, there's an equal & opposite stating Leaving will be great for business.

Right, so we received the same update for several loans which all clearly have the same borrower but that was not disclosed to us lenders when we made the decision to invest. And, surprise surprise, all of them had a grossly overvalued security and will result in massive losses for the lenders. Surely this constitues a case of misselling as we were not properly informed of the risks involved. Welcome to The Wonderful (Fantasy) World of FS! Where the only losers are YOU.

Administrators fees to date are billed at £ 119692.00. They are due to provide a new estimate for ongoing work but this will be hedged with caveats. Someone amongst us will know how much is in their piggy bank. The money should have been in a ring-fenced account but I suppose the argument will be that as they were not Regulated that doesn't/might not apply. Errr, I'd wager it's a tad more than that, perhaps a "1" or even a "2" is missing in front?

I'd forgotten about this one, my favourite all time Loan on any Platform, endless hours of amusement, sad if it's nearing the end game. Wonder what the Bottom Pincher is up to these days? (Obviously, not amusing to those stuck in it.) PS / EDIT: Hmmm, also, upon reading the early comments, some postings now seem to not make a lot of sense. Perhaps some posters have removed what eventually turned out to be rather "embarrasing" critiques comments on my Valuations/LTVs/RICS observations & predictions?  |

If one or more people "swing" as a result of "The Investigation/s", I wonder if Bailey & Co will crow about it, pat themselves on the back for a job well done, and move swiftly on to the next fiasco that the FCA caused?
Of course, any prosecutions have nothing whatsoever to do with the debacle and the FCA's initial gross negligence and culpability in directly creating it!

Take your point Brian, but most of us are fed up with so many of these Professionals (hello RICS) demanding our respect for their "Profession", but meanwhile it's OK if they lie like a pig in s**t. Personally, I don't trust ANY Professionals, not one iota, many sold their integrity a looooong time ago. Under the guise of " Trust me, I'm a Professional."Yeah, right.
