I’ve just watched Newsnight who covered this story and Corbyn apologist, Rupa Huq should be ashamed of herself...IMHO

Both '1' and '2' are only stating the obvious.

With one of the weakest governments in ages tackling one of the biggest issues to face the country in decades, JC gets most attention from whether he did/didn't say "stupid woman". Sums up his negligible contribution to current political debate.

It is not sexist to call May a stupid woman but what it does highlight are two things. Firstly, the hypocrisy of Labour. You can just imagine the uproar if someone like Jacob Rees-Mogg called a Labour front bencher a stupid woman. It would be played for all its worth. Secondly, it demonstrates Corbyn's complete lack of conviction. He quite obviously and clearly said "stupid woman" and the fact that he's not prepared to defend his statement and would rather lie to the House is a clear sign of his character.

In fairness, the Tories have been milking it for all it's worth. Watching the fragments of debate coverage yesterday which led up to it reminded me why I generally refuse to engage with parliamentary politics. No-one seems happy with the possible Brexit outcomes and instead of trying to find a solution together - we've got politicians treating the whole thing like it's a playground game with stupid tit-for-tat verbal point scoring. Stupid men/women/people.

It is stunning, with an open goal for the last 2 year JC has managed to knock every shot over the goal, hand balled it, or given a free-kick. While I understand he lacks leadership ability (no back bone etc) this continual incompetence can only because he likes watching the country drift towards the sewer. If the country ends up bankrupt he can blame the conservatives and usher in 1000 years of socialist rule. So maybe playing the long game.

I'm not sure what the fuss is about.
Corbyn called May two things: (1) "stupid", and (2) either a "person" or a "woman". Number (1) is, arguably, rude and has no place in the House, but nobody seems bothered about that. Instead they are quibbling about number (2), which is factually accurate either way.
When did it become sexist to mention a person's gender when being rude to them? When that woman yesterday called me a "vile despicable man", should I be offended because it was sexist? And, given that I was expressing negativity in my previous sentence, perhaps I should have said "person", not "woman" ...
I could understand if he had called her a "stupid pig", but this is all just a lot of let's-pretend offence and point-scoring.

Stupid men/women/people. By 'Take Back Control', politicians meant that all powers taken back should be given to this place. It's no wonder that people organise to demand action through the internet, as this braying melee is not representing anyone. Blame the electoral system, blame the poor quality of the candidates for election but believe me, they are making us the laughing stock of the world.

Also if honourable people say one thing we should believe them. I have never thought JC was dishonourable just delusional.

The Labour leader is playing for a no deal Brexit even more fervently than the Tory Right. His plan really is to see the country in flames and then appear as it's true savior. Unfortunately the wiser heads in Labour are unable to influence this lunacy.

Agree that it SHOULDN'T be sexist to use the phrase. After all, had in different circumstances "Stupid Man" been used by someone of either gender, people would more likely be commenting on the lack of politeness, personal attack, and the pathetic depths which parliamentary discourse has plunged to.
However the labour party is by many viewed as having an element which is fairly misogynistic: and more often from the old school hard core union background element of the party. I wonder whether reaction to Corbyn's (alleged) comments are perhaps partly due to that backdrop i.e. the ease with which it may have been uttered is being taken/viewed as perhaps a small window into part of his real soul. (I had initially written "Sole" but I must have been accidentlly confusing with Michael Foot.)
Edit: minor correction to make clearer intent (an element, not its entirety).

Unfortunately the wiser heads in Labour are unable to influence this lunacy. But, but - a no deal Brexit will lead to the sunlit uplands, no? Ha. The gentle glow of a bonfire, perhaps. The whole "for the many, not the few" thing...such a crock of ...knowing his disciples will suffer disproportionately until he takes the reins and screws over the top 5%, 10%, 25% or most likely, 50% of residents unlucky enough to be sitting ducks with their freedom of movement wings now well and truly clipped (of course the top 1% have already purchased their Maltese/Cypriot/non-UK citizenship and can simply jump into the lifeboats). And yes, after Labour's pro self-ID / Lily Madigan stance I think we can safely say he doesn't respect the female sex either. Although the Tories reinstating Charlie Elphicke and Andrew Griffiths for last week's vote means they hardly get a free pass. The UK is in chaos. With insufficient capability, integrity or leadership on either side of the political spectrum to end the madness. Happy Christmas.
