Hello I found this yesterday and thought may be good to put the ££ here until you decide to place your money somewhere else: www.marcus.co.uk/uk/enIt's only 1.5% interest but hey, it's money you can access anytime and perfectly safe. Not something I could have said for any p2p here. So not p2p but good one in between! |

The bad news is it’s only 1.35% after the 12m bonus.
The better news is there is no £1,500/£5,000 cliff edge like most other fscs accounts, but only protected for the first £85k of course.
I once had an ICICI ac, and vowed never again. But The Great Vampire Squid, well let’s see.

yeah as cwah says, check out their reviews. Having had a nightmare with paragon once, I never want that kind of experience again. other Indian banks, sadly also have poor reviews. it sounds like there is a culture of negative customer service being the norm; money going missing on many reviews.

In contrast, for me at least, Marcus has been superb and I've heard nothing but good things about the account from others too. Easy to open, easy to manage, almost instantaneous deposit/withdrawals, interest paid monthly. It just works, which unfortunately is more than can be said for many similar accounts. It's a shame that its ultimate owners are who they are, but they can definitely build a good platform. The only thing I'm curious about is why they've bothered, it just doesn't seem their style. I'm sure all will be revealed in some hideously evil fashion at some point.

can you give a little more insight into your experience with Paragon, It involved very poor customer service/'computer says no'/unprofessional refusal to properly liaise with the linked bank account(which had been fully helpful), for which I received a very small token of compensation, after I filed an official complaint in prep for ombudsman. Their AML procedures are tight, it panned out OK, imagine nowhere near like ICICI - in thinking recently, I think I would go back to Paragon for the right rates.

I've not had any particular issues with Paragon, at least none that left sufficient mark for me to remember.
On the other hand, ICICI was such a hideous nightmare of a customer experience last time I dabbled that even after a number of years I wouldn't contemplate going back. Well, never quite say never but....
One of those accounts I was really really happy my initial deposit was a trial £1.01 ish amount so I didn't have to care about it.

can you give a little more insight into your experience with Paragon, Personal experience is very positive. Couple of savings accounts (fixed rate bonds) in recent years, easy website to use etc. See my thread on P2P ISAs, got the money in within 3 days of accounting opening from old building society and transfer most out same or next day after getting requests from P2P companies. Noticed a improved ISA rate last week, logged in opened the new account in minutes and old ISA closed overnight and now earning an extra 0.1% whilst i decide which IF ISA is going to get some more money.

can you give a little more insight into your experience with Paragon, For me, Paragon, Marcus, RCI, Ikano, Sainsburys, Hampshire Trust, & Oak North have all been fine. ICICI - too much hassle!
