IFISA

tried to open an IFISA
a pop up (half way visible only and not scrollable) requested an email address different from the main account .. how odd is that?
when I tried to ask them online, they hid behind O(10) personal bits of information for me to put in other than the email they had already.
can somebody recommend them for an IFISA?
Ablrate, if you are reading this, I think you need to review your online marketing procedures

ok. Thanks. So, it's just a technical thing for them.

ok. Thanks. So, it's just a technical thing for them. Quite a few platforms require different email addresses for their Standard and IFISA accounts (e.g. ABLrate, Assetz, Unbolted). Not sure why. In case you use gmail and don't realise, you can create sibling addresses by adding a '+' and any text immediately before the @ symbol. E.g. If your usual email address is usual.name@gmail.com, you could use usual.name+assetz@gmail.com. All messages to either/all addresses get routed to your primary gmail inbox. I haven't tried this with Assetz, but it works for Unbolted.

I guess Assetz must have changed the way they do things, I opened an IFISA with them this morning and they didn't ask for a second email (I think both platforms were using goji for the ISA bit so maybe that's why they originally both required a second email...and maybe AC have now found a way to get round it)

I’d definitely recommend the IFISA but it does require an extra email address separate from your standard account and you can just toggle between the two accounts with your one account login.

The Ablrate ISA works very well, particularly together with a standard account. The only thing to watch for is that they give you a tax statement for the ISA account as if it were a taxable account. Just don't declare what they suggest you should!
