I know there are a number of Vanguard advocates on the forum, and as I intend to invest in one of their passive global 100% equity offerings I thought I'd ask for any thoughts on the pros/cons of their various options. I'm considering the following choices:
Lifestrategy 100% - for better or worse, it appears to be overweighted in the UK. Charge 0.22%
FTSE All World UCITS ETF - 3207 stocks, charge 0.25%
FTSE Global All Cap Index Fund - 6216 stocks, charge 0.24%
Or alternatively Create my own basket of funds mimicking these, as a charge of 0.1% is available on US, UK and European Markets.
Input appreciated!

Do check out Monevator's list of index funds, it is focused on fees and a good starting point for researching funds and ETFs: monevator.com/low-cost-index-trackers/I guess you probably know that each of those candidates will have a slightly different mix of emerging markets and small caps included (or not) which alters the risk profile a bit. Personally, the global tracker that I use is HMWO (HSBC MSCI World UCITS ETF) which is slightly cheaper than Vanguard's global tracker at 0.15%, although I also hold Vanguard emerging markets, Europe, and global small-cap funds or ETFs as I wanted a portfolio tilted slightly towards those areas.

failedtheturingtest, thanks for the link. Some interesting alternatives on there. However my current leader is Vanguard Global All Cap for maximum geographical and company size coverage. Although as I'm buying in a single lump I'll probably go through my IWEB account for a £5 trade rather than 0.15% annual with Vanguard. @bobo I'm not sure that is pertinent to my decision really. I simply want an all world tracker to hold as I don't have the knowledge to pick and choose stocks. I'll take what the market brings and hope it's similar to past performance of 5-7% annualised.

looks like you have already made your mind up on your index fund but if not and its not a recommendation but they are cheaper you could also check out L&G International index but you would lose the 5% UK.And the complete opposite of your Vanguard Global All Cap with 6000 stocks would be the L&G Global 100

What are your criteria for deciding on trackers and what order of importance are your criteria?
Do you want Emerging Markets in your World tracker? This tends to be the difference in price between World trackers. The extra cost is guaranteed, but not the return from EM
Your platform fees will also be a factor in which tracker and also whether it is shares or funds
