Stayed in the Travelodge in Marylebone many moons ago. It was the hardest bed I've never slept in.
Always prefer Premier Inn.

Agreed. I don't think I've ever actually managed to STAY in a Travelodge though. I've rocked up late into an evening, after a hard day of work and subsequent driving, on a confirmed booking done directly days before. Only to be told that the hotel didn't have any record of it. Despite presentation of the booking confirmation. It apparently hadn't reached them, and "it happens a lot". And no we don't have any spare rooms. And no they couldn't help with finding me an alternative. And if I continued with being just a little narked and upset at not having a place to stay at 9:30pm and getting no assistance from them they would call the police. And no you can't sit over there with your laptop to find somewhere else (I bloody well will).
Ended up 10 miles or so away at a very inflated price Holiday Inn, and eating at about 10pm.
So yes, I agree that the Premier Inn is preferable to Travel Lodge. Actually, a hole in the ground covered by a tarpaulin is preferable to Travelodge in my books. But I'll admit I'm a touch biased.
