I had the idea from this forum (thanks whoever it was !) to renew my bonus. They're currently offering 0.1% additional which I think is lower than last time I checked.
So the question if I get that now and say in two months they issue a higher bonus, would I be able to get that higher bonus or would I be locked in for 12 months at the 0.1 that is available now ? In other words do I lose anything by accepting the 0.1 now ?

As far as I understand you can renew again anytime. So you will not lose anything accepting the 0.1 now.

Telegraph reporting "From today, new applicants will no longer receive the bonus introductory rate of 1.45pc. Instead the bank will offer the standard 1.35pc, to which existing customers will revert to 12 months after opening an account."
Marcus UK shows "Put the interest back into your savings with a variable rate of 1.35% AER. Open an Online Savings Account and start saving with £1.", which seems to confirm that

I agree with most of this however what I will say is I check the rates every month as it could go up depending on the financial situation down the line. Mrs Aju definitely was lucky though she kept renewing towards the end of the initial 12 months and was fortunate enough to extend the fix out to next year. The rates tipped down just after that we'll see where the land lies next year.
Whilst Marcus may say that existing customers will revert the rate option is still in Mrs Aju's account and offers the opportunity to check the rate the other day but at present the message says
"There's no new bonus rate on offer for this account at the moment."
That may change though, she has until 30th August 2020... Other rates might improve too but for the moment we have this one as our rainy day safe account.

Interesting twist. I got contacted by them today and I called them back using the number on their website.
I was told "......something..something....a regulatory requirement......we need to ask you this: Can you confirm if you are related to Lord XYZ XYZ......?" The name was nothing like my name. She said other details might be similar and wouldn't give any more details other than to confirm nobody has tried to get into my account.
Strangest question I've ever been asked by a bank.
