Triggered by two recent emails about website change promises I've been motivated to reply to Emma as follows Dear Emma, Whilst any communication to lenders is preferable to none, I think I can speak on behalf of many lenders, to say that there are numerous loans with comprehensive written updates months overdue as well as video updates from David becoming ever rarer. I don't know if your role as "Account Manager" is borrower or lender facing so maybe you could direct this plea in the correct direction.

Kind Regards ****** ******* AKA Ladywhitenap I think lender facing. (not sure about naming unless she interacts on the platform). She has dealt with a few minor requests almost instantly in my case, so no complaints about my 'account being managed' in that respect. I suspect any updates would need to be authorised by the 'man at the top - MATT', regardless of what other team members may or may not know. Matt may have his reasons for not updating regularly (some instances are fairly obvious, just nothing new to say) but hopefully realises that 'promised' updates should be given.

An interesting page from the new shop window www.ablrate.com/ablrate-update/It simply repeats the statement " Each week we aim to upload an update of loans within the loan book and general business and economic updates." six times. It's like the bearded one has been given lines as a punishment for the lack of communication. Probably best not to get our hopes up though, it's dated from January. It seems that the 'distraction' is eating his time up

I wouldn't say that they have become rare, I'd say that they have entirely dissapeared. That said, I'd far prefer a meaningful written update. The video updates were only ever warm and fuzzy window dressing, and they rarely spoke about anything other than pubs which were never going to recover much in the middle of a pandemic.
Those who have been around these parts for a while will remember that the drop in communication and engagement was one of the precursors to several other platforms going tits-up, and I hope that isn't the case with Ablrate. At least there are a few nice pubs close to their new office.

Should be impressive, I have heard talk of state of the art green screen technology that will allow the background to change in line with the loan being updated. No doubt we will all fully understand blockchain after a virtual walk through the future.

Years ago when in a quite junior position, I wrote in a proposal for a piece of technical work that "we aim to meet" a certain performance figure. My customer then then responded "so if you don't meet that specified parameter, I won't have to pay you then?" The only statement worth its salt are "we will do something at such and such interval" LW

looking forward to decorate with ablrate video. Wonder if he will unbox all the updates that are currently wanted (probably in a box marked kitchen or such).

Just perusing the new ablrate shop window and I notice that they describe themselves as "the straight talking marketplace for p2p pending" which confuses me as they don't seem to do any talking at all anymore.

It seems my understanding of 'shop window' was a bit optimistic, I had taken it to mean the user interface and not just some random page I never used anyway,
Colour me disappointed.

The shop window is for the passing trade - you cannot see it once you are inside the shop browsing the goods. I have mixed feelings about this lack of communication. Good news generally gets shouted quickly and often. Bad news gets buried. I'm not sure we would like the communication that is missing. Perhaps if we had a general update on all except cars, pubs, and containers - that could be good. It would keep the length of the update reasonable. The rest to follow.

It is even longer since ablrate provided any sort of update on Loan 94 - 1st December last year. It is getting to a point now where their communication is becoming unacceptably poor.
