Has anyone had this warning from an online betting site ? I've deposited twice over the last 6 weeks and withdrew most of the deposit twice. No free bets or offers, just my own money. Can't believe this has anything to do with AML, the money is leaving and returning to the same account. What's it all about ? The Gambling Commission website seems to suggest at first glance that customer's must be allowed to withdraw their deposits without restrictions.
"
Please be advised that inline with our terms and conditions you must wager your deposits before requesting a withdrawal. Failure to do this may result in your account being closed. "

My first thought would be it is a way to stop people using betting sites to hide their money for numerous reasons.
As betting sites are linked to an email rather than a person there is no way for an investigator to discover how much money you have stowed away in any number of online sites.
I assume that yo uwere not doing this with large amounts but it will probably be an automated response to any amount this is done with as you could be testing the water for bigger amounts, or have accounts with multiple betting sites doing the same thing.

Don't think they are allowed to do that if it's your own money and not connected to a bonus. They can't start asking for more info either, they should have done that before allowing you to deposit. www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/licensees-and-businesses/guide/fair-and-transparent-terms-and-practicesWhat not to do
Players must not be made to meet wagering requirements before they can withdraw money from their deposit balance. Funds from deposit and bonus balances must not be mixed together or displayed to the player as a single pot of money Players must not be asked for information at the point they request a withdrawal from their account if the operator could reasonably have asked for this information at an earlier time. Further information on the rules on identify verification can be found in our age and identity verification consultation response document (opens in a new tab) An example of what not to do:
"Your withdrawals are limited to one per day and no more than five per week" "You may withdraw up to £5,000 per day once you have wagered your original deposit" "Before making any withdrawals from your deposit account, you must first wager the value of this 5 times"

I've had a warning recently that I'm operating my Paddy Power account outside of normal conditions.
Is this ( and I assume it is ) because I opened with £25. I've withdrawn £350 and have a balance of £100 IE they can't stand a winner
