been told by a friend that due to child's age they stand lose over £500 a month in benefits. He says he can get EMA but it won't even be £30 a week.
I've asked and tried to help with suggestions.
But the killer for me was "I need that money I will now only have £60 a month after mortgage paid from my benefits to pay the bills"
I asked what his wages went on and the answer was "that's my spending money not to pay for essentials "

yep and in his early 50's
I think it's more his thinking that UC or whatever should pay for the essentials and that he should be able to spend his wages on holidays, stuff for the house etc rather than support himself
