Anyone use this App? I don't understand Bitcoin but I think a small free investment might help me to get interested and get an understanding. Don't want to get scammed through.....
Should I download it?

I’m a ‘Luno Bitcoin Pioneer’ and can confirm that Luno is a totally legitimate trading platform/wallet.The free £10 is basically an incentive to get people interested in cryptocurrency and learn about how it works and it’s potential as an investment. The Luno app itself is very straightforward to use, provides a lot of information of what is going on in the world of cryptocurrency and has very reasonable fees when trading. So give it a go and get £10 free of no strings attached Bitcoin just for opening and verifying an account. (PM me if anyone needs the reward code).

I have dipped my toe in the water.... I am now the proud owner of 0.0002 of a Bitcoin. How is the experience with Luno? Well, my bank account hasn't been emptied yet..... Seriously there was alot of details required including a photo which made me nervous, but getting the fraction of a bitcoin into my account was easy enough. Not really sure whether I'm just supposed to leave it there or move it to my computer... I must admit I got distracted after all the set up and haven't followed it up. Anyone know if I were to buy more is my investment protected in anyway? I mean bitcoin may become worthless, fair enough, but if I buy some is it classed as mine or if the company went bust is it theirs and I lose it?

The safest thing to do if you are going to invest a serious amount of money into cryptocurrency is store your assets in an offline wallet eg Ledger Nano X.So if the platform went bust or was hacked your crypto would be safe.If you are just going to keep a small amount in Luno you may as well put it in their savings wallet and earn approximately 2% interest per year (every little helps🙂) In the app click wallets, add a wallet,+BTC savings wallet and transfer your Bitcoin over.

There's a standard saying in the Crypto world of: "Not your keys, Not your coins". Meaning if you don't have the private key for your coins you don't have ultimate control of the coins. For the coins to be fully under your control you (and only you) need to have the private key for them. There is a cost to transferring bitcoin around (the fee varies based on demand) so for a small amount it might not make sense to transfer it.

I downloaded the APP and signed up and got the £10 worth of bitcoin.
From time to time in the intervening year I have made small deposits.
I have learnt only one thing and that is that BTC goes down in value whenever I buy any.
