"I recently sent you a Jury Citation asking you to respond and supply your details" . NO YOU NEVER.
Nothing like some re-affirmation of the british justice system before you become a juror. I'm thinking of telling them to audit their internal processes before inferring someone is a jury dodger with the threat of a £1000 fine. Maybe not a good idea though !

Perhaps they did send it, but it went awry in the post?

Took the Royal Mail from the postmarked 24/12/21 until 6/1/22 to deliver a stamped 1st class letter 7 miles across a city. Took the Royal mail from the date on the invoice of 31/12/21 until 5/1/22 to deliver using a 2nd class stamp from Norfolk to South Yorkshire.

The second example It is perfectly possible the letter didn't get to dispatch office until last van had left in that case it would not have moved until 4th ( 1st January new years day, 2nd Sunday, 3rd Bank Holiday ) Having worked for an organisation producing lots of invoices they would often be printed overnight...

I think we are in agreement, indeed I'd say that I'd find that acceptable for first class over a bank holiday weekend

keitha, I think that was the contrast being drawn... one letter, posted 2nd class, took just 5 days to arrive (as you'd expect over the holiday weekend), while another, posted 1st class, took that same period plus another 8 days on top (and to travel just 7 miles). One good experience, one bad. The abridged version is mail can go wonky over the enormously busy Christmas period. Reminds me of the old crossword joke... 5 down: "Overworked postman" "How many letters?" "Too bloody many!" I'm here all week.
