Amount has doubled from £100 to £200 you need to be in receipt of certain benefits. The scheme is open to households where at least one person is on a working-age means-tested benefit, and is responsible for paying the property's energy bills. Claimants must have been claiming any one of the following benefits between 1 December 2021 and 31 January 2022: Income support
Income-based job seekers allowance
Employment and support allowance
Universal credit
Working tax creditsPity that there is nothing for pensioners, particularly those just over the cut off for pension credit. If you have friends or relatives in Wales who might qualify it's worth checking with them that they are getting it and if not get them to apply. I've been looking at the cap etc and what the next increase "might" mean for me on my usage then my bill would go up £40 a month. I'm a pretty low user at 10,000kWh gas and 2000kWh electricity. I'm insulated a little by having my own solar panels and being on a cheap tariff which lasts until December.
