Yes, I was thinking very much the same thing. I hope they managed to smuggle some NLAWs and food and water onto the train as well. they should get kudos for this. I know they informed the Russians, and it would have been an act of major folly for them to attack the train, but given the disorganisation on that side of the fence anything could have happened.

Then there are some people who just don't understand orders

Then there are a bunch of people who have "gone on holiday" or "resigned" but doing it all quietly
who knew some journalists were so wibbly wobbly when others are at the front line.

Commendations for 3 PMs who took the train into a war zone
I just watched a video of part of this meeting where the visiting PMs are making the point that Ukraine is fighting a war for all of us. It tipped me over the edge a bit to see Zelensky there with all that very genuine solidarity and support but effectively alone in the literal firing line. They are perfectly correct of course and that's another reason why I don't see this issue ending any time soon; I don't see how any peace agreement brokered by Ukraine and Russia can close Pandora's box. Unimaginable bravery shown by all of them.

Indeed. The "they are fighting our war" was something I kinda of switched to a little while back. My dotted line thought process had originated from thinking about potential concerns about how risky is it to denude ours/Poland's/Nato's weapons stockpiles in the way that they so obviously have (4000 NLAWs sent out I'm sure is not a pimple on the arse of the elephant thing). This came from a concern about what state we are left in to fight back if Putin was mad enough to .....
But then I quickly realised it was pretty obvious: our (Nato's) battle is already here. It is being fought now. The frontline might be a little further eastwards, and the weaponary is not being handled by UK/US/Polish/Estonian/Nato hands, but this is precisely the war for which these stockpiles are held.

Let's hope Putin's done and dusted by the time their furlough is due.....or it will be Ukrainian Front for them.
