There were certain things I liked and disliked about him. Can you expand on the ways in which you think Boris Johnson has been a good PM, and the things you've liked about him?

I once asked two departments to communicate more closely..... they moved their desks opposite one another !

Boris has 'got Brexit dun'. So at least now that we are out of the shackles of the EU the power vacuum can be whatever wattage we want.

He can't really do anything so why not go on holiday and watch his potential successors fight.

People should be in their place of work and immediately accountable.
Only a naive fool would expect them to succeed at home .
Too many distractions, too many slackers .
OK for those self motivated genii who dwell on this site .Most Brits (and others ) are idle toads who do as little as possible to get by .

Unfortunately some of us didn't realise that was the way to go and spent a lifetime actually working.

You dont actually have to DO ANYTHING to be a good PM . You just have to choose the right staff and expect results.
The rest is the ability to communicate the right vibes to the majority and to know how to do that is a talent held by very few. BJ could do that and leave the rest spitting feathers. Its the 'touched by god talent' that really gets up some peoples' noses and others lap it up ,especially when the rest spit feathers and then lose their rag, impotently.
Sadly there are too many in the Conservative Party that believe there is a way back into the EU if only pigs could fly and still feel that with the right fanny in place it could work for them.
No , I dont like BJ,but I recognise his talent and he can confidently run rings around all the European Leaders if only his party was not so dozey. Liz and Rishi both lack the confidence and charisma to bulldoze through and come out smiling.(Neither has the bulky figure for bullying).

This little gem looks to be what every work at home skiver needs.
An undetectable mouse jiggler so that you appear to be at the laptop full time..

Interesting travolta. I remember reading somewhere that many think Ronald Reagan was one of the best US Presidents ever. Not because he was smart, or anything else, simply because he knew his limitations, knew he didn't know it all, knew he was only average intelligence, so he called in all the relevant Specialists when a Big Decision had to be made and he went with the consensus. Seems a pretty good way to run a country to me. Regarding Boris, I was an agitator at local level back in the day and have seen Boris in action at London Council level on three occasions. He was formidable and annihilated the Opposition every time, quoting myriad facts and figures, all without notes - he was truly astounding to watch. Now, he also has many flaws & weaknesses too, and one of them is Carrie getting in his ear too much with all her Green Nonsense..............

Civil Service runs the country and they are all on holiday ie 'working from home'. Bit harsh. My wife works a couple of days from home, at her desk before 8am works right through till after 5. Cant see being in the office any more productive than that. ".. ........... at her desk before 8am works right through till after 5." ......... a rare bird indeed!

Surely the only relevant question is whether she gets the job done?
How long she takes to do it is irrelevant. What hours she works to do it are irrelevant, except insofar as communication with her co-workers and others goes.

Agreed yet over the years I worked for many managers for whom being present was there primary measure of how productive staff were. one big issue always has been in the UK at least Bill and Jenny given as near as possible an identical task to perform. Bill comes in every day at 8 has several coffee and cigarette breaks and a good hour for lunch and chats to colleagues and leaves at 6 and takes 10 days to do the job Jenny comes in at 9 has drinks her coffee at the desk as she works takes a 30 minute lunch break and leaves at 5 and completes the job in 8 days management see Bill as the better worker because he's there when they arrive and still there when they leave

No Floor boxes etc as the office had been designed to have "pods" of desks coming out from the wall so there was no trip hazard etc until this moron redesigned it.
