(Other news websites are available, including at least with half-a-dozen photos of him topless (which is six too many: he's not exactly "beach-fit".)
It adds to the impression many have of a vacuum in Government until Johnson's successor has taken office.
I don't begrudge him some hols, but couldn't he have waited until September?

...and do some work? Not him! Still, at least it stops him breaking anything else.

I have no worries about Boris with his hands off the power levers. I do have a problem with the Conservatives having such a slow selection process which is initiated suddenly and offers us at least 6 weeks of lame duck PM. I don't know how long the Labour party does it to compare.

2020 - resignation announced 13th Dec, timetable announced 6th Jan, nominations 7th Jan, membership voting opened 24th Feb, winner announced 4th April.

There were certain things I liked and disliked about him.
One of the things I disliked was even before this, I didn't get the impression he was working hard or doing very much.

As I understand it this is his second holiday this summer.
To be frank it is rather insulting to the public many of whom due to current circumstances can't even afford 1 holiday this year.
I think it's a final insult and shows just how out of touch he is after all he can have a 2 month holiday starting September then look for a job

He's only a figure head PM. No minister or civil servant would do anything he asked for without the say so of at least one, probably both, of the candidates.

Civil Service runs the country and they are all on holiday ie 'working from home'.

He's been dumped and cannot really do anything, why not go on holiday? If they actually need him for anything he is contactable.

Civil Service runs the country and they are all on holiday ie 'working from home'. Bit harsh. My wife works a couple of days from home, at her desk before 8am works right through till after 5. Cant see being in the office any more productive than that.

two holidays a year, how dare he!
I'm glad I don't work for you ;-)
And what is it about this fear of working from home. The biggest fear is that the manager doesn't know how to manage his staff, having them all heads down in front of him is the only evidence? No wonder we have a productivity crisis in this country if that is how managers manage.

And what is it about this fear of working from home. Wonder if there's one of these on BJ Piffle's desk? Bingo.

This is 2 in a matter of weeks and when he will be on a long term holiday soon. Within the last 10 years I was sent to help reorganise an Office in terms of IT etc, I walked in and could not believe my eyes, The desks were being rearranged into precise rows IE to measured tape marks on the floor, and the managers desk was being put on a newly constructed dias so he could look down on them. One thing he didn't like was in order to power all the computers I had to run power and network cables to the walls and they offended his sense of tidiness. This attitude to staff supervision I thought disappeared in the 60's but this guy would only have been early 30's.
