I'm working through my quarterly investment report from Hargreaves Lansdown; not all is gloom and there were several increases in valuations. Surprisingly, the largest was for a Russian fund that went up by some 16%. All theoretical, of course, until Russia is accepted back into the international fold - probably not in my life-time. (In fact I hope that the b*st*rds suffer for a very long time to come.)
Really I should have sold the shares before the "military operation", but around that time I was distracted by other financial matters.

Yip same here. Cant sell them . Did try but fidelity cancelled the sale when I requested sale on a sunday prior to the invasion.
Back up to the roughly the price they were before the invasion.... not that it matters as there is nowt we can do with them.
Stock market is a weird unpredictable beast.how can fund share price increase when Russia is cut off from most of the markets?

how can fund share price increase when Russia is cut off from most of the markets? Because... 1. It's a nominal figure until some unspecified point in the future. 2. Because it's compared to three months earlier, not last year. 3. Because there are still buyers in other markets for the stock available in those markets, and supply and demand are both disrupted roughly equally. I suspect that last point will cause a plummet when the sanctions are lifted, and western shareholders all line up to sell.
