Or should I say Happy Holidays or Festive Greetings. Whichever suits you, have a good one, and all the best for 2023.

- railway workers
- postmen
- UK border force employees
Pleased to see feedback on the travel forums that suggest that getting through imigration at the main UK airports today was easier than normal. Credit to the armed forces that are manning the booths.

Makes me wonder then what the issue is with Border Force? If their frontline job can be done relatively easily, more of them should be recruited and they should be paid less.
I've long thought their job should be only to check the travel documents (passport and/or visa) are valid. Surely the right place to make decisions on whether or not someone can enter the country is in the UK Embassy/Consulate in the travellers country. The officers in the Embassy will be better placed to understand that particular country than anyone at a UK airport who is dealing with people from all over the world. If an embassy makes a decision to admit then a visa is produced. Then at the UK port surely the only job is to ensure that the visa is genuine and belongs to the passenger. But no, border force seem to take it upon themselves to second guess the embassies in a bid to add value resulting in large queues.
Happy Zarathosht Diso !!

Happy Christmas to all. Hopefully 2023 will see strikes, inflation, world issues and wars all calm down a bit. Cheers to all.
