and almost immediately announces investigations into democrats, presumably they will also now shelve the investigations into Trump.
So instead of ruling for the people they are just going to attack the other side, makes our lot seem almost civilised

"Lobbyists" seem to feature more prominently and appear to be allowed to spend large amounts of cash to influence policy. Then we have the elections themselves. They seem a hotbed of who the wealthy are backing as you need to have hundreds of millions (billions?) of dollars to win national campaigns. In the UK we deliberately regulate political spending largely for that reason.

Joke doing the rounds on Capitol Hill is that McCarthy needs to check how many kidneys he still has, given the amout of things he has given away to bribe people to vote for him.

I believe were it not for the lobbying power and financial clout of the NRA they would have at least some form of gun control. just look at some of the spending figures www.businessinsider.com/nra-power-lobbying-statistics-gun-control-2017-10?r=US&IR=T

IMHO any parent that is so casual with guns that a 6 year old is able to pickup and secrete a gun in a school bag without parents noticing the child has it should be prosecuted for neglect, also was the safety off or did the child know how to put the safety off,
Have to say I've used shotguns, but never a pistol etc but I assume the kick against the grip of the average 6 year old child would cause injury to the wrist, my youngest is 30 and I'd be surprised if she knew how to fire a pistol, so for me the concept of a 6 year old knowing such stuff is scary
