Bad for business, bad for consumers, good for isa time, good/bad for inflation control? Will rates reverse in future?is a global recession coming? Does anyone know what's going on?
Until wage rises are controlled and public continues to spend this ain't going to go away.
So far markets seem to have expected this and drops(thankfully) are minimal.
Let's hope inflation gets under control soon as I dont know how most folks cope with grocery Bill's costing overĀ£120 per week just now, council tax rises and energy Bill's.

This is interest rates not inflation.
What I would suggest is grab hold of any fixed interest rates you can get as hopefully this situation will not be around for long
On a similar note don't buy any fixed mortgages right now

Correct me if I'm wrong wrong but are interest rates not increasing to curb inflation? Indeed hopefully isa rates will peak for this years isa conts. Intend to go for prob 3 year fix. Doubt sticks will achieve much more this year and I'm getting more drawn to guarantees and 85k protection.

If Stuart Law was in charge of the Bank of England they would not need to put up interest rates to reduce inflation he would just stop people withdrawing money from their bank accounts until it got the target level.
