My wife asked me the other day - Weren`t you and many others defrauded by Peer-to-Peer lending? Yes, why?
Did it involve fraud and overseen by a government department?
Yes, why?
Was there fraud, incompetence and cover up involved in your opinion?
Yes, why?
Was the head of the department awarded an honour or a significant promotion?
Yes, why?
Are you and the others likely to be compensated any time soon, or ever?
No, why?
Well, you should watch a tv program called “Mr Bates verses the Post Office”!!

Like your thinking, but it took 12 years from Private Eye first flagging Horizon to ITV's drama. Not sure I've got that many years left on the planet.

And all the P2P shenanigans don't come anywhere close to the diabolical behaviour demonstrated across the spectrum of powerful players involved in Horizon. I was flabbergasted by the reaction to the ITV drama. Every detail about the Horizon debacle, nay life-ending disaster, has been in the public domain for years and no one gave a - Private Eye, Computer Weekly, there was a Panorama investigation (which I found hard to watch through without having murderous thoughts about the players involved), a Radio 4 series, numerous newspaper articles over the years, etc. No one gave a furry rat's behind until now but it's definitely not down to the details being hidden.

Are you not entertained? We live in a world where everything has to be entertainment & that includes the news. Just how much coverage has there been in the press but its not exciting or entertaining. Couple of tiktoks with a comedy sound effect & googly eyes as the subpostmaster loss/jail sentence came up ... would have been sorted ages ago.

I agree with most of the comments made and like most people, absolutely disgusted at how these inocent people were treated by both the Post Office with their inept private police force and especially the politicians. There is no real comparison to our case compared to them, it would be offensive to suggest otherwise. However, a hornets nest has been stirred and are asking what else is going on and being covered up? If I were part of FCA, especially a senior figure who has been promoted to the BOE, I wouldn`t be sleeping quite as well as usual. Perhaps a documentary follow up exposing other, lesser negligence is a possibility now. Which politicians are game to reject that on record.
