Appreciate that MT are a new platform and no doubt working flat out but many of the loans have a relatively short shelf life before repayment is due.
Hopefully there will be a facility to auto-reinvest those repaid funds into new loans as and when they appear on the platform. Whilst playing solitaire helps the time go by on a rainy day together with the odd offering on MT, screen gazing is not really something I'm into.
So possibly this could be built in somewhere during the next platform upgrade especially as I'm sure that after today's surge, there will be more and more loan opportunities becoming available.

Which gives at least an indicator that interest and capital might be repaid as and when expected. Ah... but there are some of us old folk, just marking time awaiting the arrival of the Grim Reaper, who might find this a refreshing change from other opportunities which have devolved into the "park it and wait for maturity" class. I guess it's an age thing....

I guess most things tend to come with Pros and Cons.. But wouldn't an 'auto-reinvest' function be unfair to any new comers to the platform.

No I don't believe it would provided MT is able to maintain the deal flow and match supply with demand. What is the killer with any platform is where the opportunities to lend/invest dry up. Then irrespective as to how long they've been around folks tend to drift away. So whether there is an auto-reinvest feature available or not - it's all down to the deal flow. There are more than a couple of examples on the forum where the discussions are minimal. That's usually due to the deal flow being minimal if anything.

I don't believe for one moment that you're expecting the Grim Reaper to call - although it's going to happen to us all one day - hopefully though not today.

Logic would confirm that analysis, for a while at least. One platform at least is having its judgement of what is and is not adequate asset security seriously questioned.

Afternoon oldgrumpy, Excuse my ignorance, but I am going to have to ask (having tried to google it), but what does 'LLAP' stand for? Regards, Ed

I thought MoneyThing was a very promising P2P platform but I must admit I have lost confidence after discovering that Ed didn't know what LLAP stood for. Maybe I'll head back to my old favourite FC to have a read through the loan comments on my defaults. Oh OK then, I'll just see what all these new MoneyThing loans going up on Monday morning are like....

I missed out four booms the rumble and the final WHACK! That concept of me beating hell out of the ground with a banana is awe inspiring. I wonder if MGM would allow some whizz-kid to "tamper" a little with that scene"! Attachments:
