I'd be astonished if RS did run another cashback soon. As a means of attracting new investment and energising the business, RS' last one must be about the least successful ever. RS' sales and net loan book increase have declined following the cashback, not increased. As for existing investors' reactions, I need say no more.... Have you got a link to the declining loan book? Personally my last matched loan was at 6.5% 29th june 2015. Average loan was about 6.7% throughout June. So no new investments from me for 6 weeks and all capital and interest paid in that time has been withdrawn too. I would come back for 6.3-6.5% I wrote that the loan book increase had declined, not the size of the loan book itself. In other words, the book is growing at a slower rate. A little work is needed to see the size of the loan book and how it progresses. I record the figure shown in the Provision Fund section of Ratesetter Info on a weekly basis and spreadsheet it to get the information. On the more substantive point, I made my first reinvestment for several weeks over the weekend at 6.1%. Not what I'd like, but I was in a forgiving mood.

I've got nothing significant back until Tuesday. I'm sure Mr 5% will pop up before then and bring a matched rate well below 6% with him. Pay day is 25th, have a spare £500 with no designated home as yet. We shall see. Shame pay day isn't the 21st, statistically speaking (i.e. not advice or a guide, just a reflection of the past) that has had the highest MR on average each month in 2015. @ westonkevRS

Finally the cash back affect seems to be resolving itself, Sunday morning and 6.3%+ are coming through. I guess RS will offer up a new cash back in early Sept I'd be astonished if RS did run another cashback soon. As a means of attracting new investment and energising the business, RS' last one must be about the least successful ever. RS' sales and net loan book increase have declined following the cashback, not increased. As for existing investors' reactions, I need say no more.... I hope your right.... (pssttt, don't tell anyone I agree with you, obviously this is as a customer and lender I speak....)

I'm actually drawing down now due to the questions that never seemed to get answered (unless I missed them).

And 5 year rates are up above 6%. It's positively spooky!

If it's any consolation Grumps (may I call you Grumps?) I had a repayment today that I put in at 6.4 not really expecting it to go....and certainly hadn't expected the "placeholder" I'd left during the cashback offer at 6.8 to go within the same hour - guess they had a big loan come in that caught everyone unawares - after all who would have predicted it to go this high on a Monday?!
Now I have a dilemma as to whether to start digging round the back of the sofa as that was all I had left on the market...

Yep, same boat here. LONG standing placeholders at 6.5 and 6.6 - and a big chunk of repayment that I'd put on at 6.4... I thought even that was optimistic!

I've been cleaned out also, much to my surprise. Currently less than £350k available in the 5 year market.

Just got a match in the 5 year market at 6.6% (probably should have held out for 6.7%).
Looks like 4.7% is easily achievable in the 1 year market.
