There are loans appearing on the SM where the YTM calculation is clearly wrong. If the sale price is at a premium, then the YTM has to be less than the borrower's interest rate. It appears that this happens when the time left is less than 1 month, so I am guessing that this is a divide-by-zero error which yields a result which is then limited to 1000%. See example below where the last payment was due on 3/9/2015:
17243-01 Estonia Secured Car Loan 4% 8.9% 1 (5) Current 1000.0% € 1.66 € 1.99 (20.0%) Does this imply that the YTM is calculated on whole months and not days remaining? As interest is split pro-rata between buyer and seller if the loan is sold part way through the month, this is not very accurate when the loan is near the end of its life.
Mintos, please could you do something to stop these misleading YTM figures and calculate them daily if I am correct?

RobYTM is calculated based on the days remaining. It's a technical issue here. The function used to calculate YTM goes awry in specific cases with small outstanding loan amount, high premium, and a few days left to maturity. In other words, as XIRR reaches -100% the function throws out spurious result and because we have set limits the YTM is displayed as 1000%. We have fixed the bug and with the next update it should be gone. Thanks for bringing this up.

martins Is the calculation of YTM correct for loans on the Secondary Market offered at a discount? The following loan is at a discount of just 0.1%, yet the YTM is 14.6% with the borrower's rate of 14.0%: 20435-01 Lithuania Business Loan - 14.0% 5 (7) 1-15 days late 14.6% € 6.00 € 5.99(-0.1%) This doesn't look right to me.

The calculation should be correct. YTM is an annual metric while discount is not, therefore for shorter remaining terms the discount/premium will have disproportionate effect on YTM.
