I have just had an amount on market matched at 6.7% 5 Year - good.
However this is a bit of a surprise as the 'Last Matched Rate' box continues to show the Last Matched rate as 6.1%
going to 'Market View' and 'Full Market' views agree that loans are being matched at the 6.6 to 6.7% level.
RS's 'Last Matched Rates' box on their front page don't seem to be much good!

Me too this morning (albeit on the monthly market) Your email will probably prompt a flurry of emails saying that the market is not transparent and expecting RS to reveal their algorithm and other stuff competitors would like to get their hands on - I find it obscure and erratic but then markets are - and i find like you that it works both ways and it is my most trusted platform. I suspect the box is updated manually (possibly once an hour). It is automatically updated and online instant, but it is sourced slightly differently to the contract data. It often reports differently as a result of large loans (>£25k that don't fill quickly enough) that get filled offline and institutional lending that fills loans based on rules rather than markets. Often there are differences. In the past I have investigated specific differences and matched against contracts. And the answers are always niche, and never satisfactory to the questionnaire. So now, personally I don't get hung up on it.... I accept differences. As long as I get the lending rate I want and is stated on my contract, that's all that matters. Kevin.
